Q:I am at 98,500 miles i just got an oil change and got new battery terminals and a battery cable put in my car because the previous terminals and cable were corroded. A day later i am driving and the check engine light comes up. I have never had any problem with my car and have always taken it to the dealer until just this past time and look what happens. Does anyone know what could have caused the check engine light to come up? I looked under the hood and i noticed the battery cable was not clipped and was able to roam freely which tells me they did a sloppy job! Now Honda is saying they will charge me $108 to do some test that will tell them a code that will say whats wrongany idea what the could have gone wrong?

Solve all your problems, go to a junk yard and buy some rear steel springs from a crown vic or marquis to replace the airbags, you'll get the same ride and no problems with rear end falling down or fueses blowing .

Q:Usually i turn on and off the lights at home at the same time more or less, so i thought to automate it.I‘m looking for a product you can replace with the regular light‘s wall-switch that have a usb port and a switch with three levels: on, off (to overwrite the automation) and auto. and by connecting a laptop to the usb port, you can program the light when to go on and off.is there a product like that (or something somewhat similar) or in order to automate the lights at home i need to install a complex home-automation system or go to the other extreme, and install a regular, old timer that can‘t handle multiple and complex dates and times?

Q:I just purchased a 2007 BMW 335i and was wondering how this may be done. I know I can turn them on by turning on my parking brakes. Also, I can run daytime running lamp bulbs but those look kind of ugly. I just want to have my coronas turn on when my light switch is turned to automatic. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The coronas, normally called angel eyes, ARE the DRLs. They come on whenever the parking lights (not parking brakes) are on. They can also come on independently if you have it set up in either i-Drive, or if you don't have navigation then by using your instrument cluster menu system. It's all in the owners manual. Placing the headlight switch into the auto position will turn on the headlights if it's dark enough or if it's raining, which then turns on the angel eyes since the parking lights come on too. If you have DRL turned on as mentioned above, they would be on all the time and then the headlights would come on once it got dark outside. The parking lights are the orange ones on the very outside of the headlight assembly. If you have DRL enabled in whatever menu system you have, they are on all the time regardless of the headlight switch position. The angel eyes are run by a single bulb for each side of the car, a 35 watt H8 to be specific. The inner headlights (what used to be high beams) are the cornering lights and are operated by a 55 watt H3 bulb. These come on individually when turning if the headlight switch is in auto (and it's dark). They also both come on when backing up if in auto. The outside lights are the high and low beam lights, and should be a D1S bulb assuming you have xenon lights. These lights also pivot when turning if switch is in auto (and it's dark).

Q:I recently installed a new audio system in my truck, then i started to notice the battery light come on. it went off for a couple days, then i installed a capacitor just to be safe and then the battery light came on and has stayed on... any ideas on the issue. all the audio equipment is installed correctly. 300 watt amp and 1 farad cap.

How old is the battery ? if it's older then three years it's time to put a new battery in your truck nowadays battery's don't last long because of the newer electronics

Q:Okay so my friends car (1995 Q45 infinity) is really messing up. First the radio lights would shut off then turn back on, both speakers would only work from time to time, driver side window wont roll down, now the passenger side window is going, the car alarm system now randomly goes off when you try to open the door, and now when you go to turn the car off, the inside door lights stay on. So in order for that not to drain the battery he is now currently, just disconnecting the cables from the battery so it wont die. And he refuses to go and pay to get this checked out. Im just wondering if someone could tell me:A) what is the main issue B) What can we do to fix it and C) how much would it cost to fix ourselves, and if it is a problem we‘re able to fix without professional help.Thanks so much in advanced :)

Sounds like a Katrina car. A car that was involved in flooding, and the water has corrupted the electrical relay panel. Typically auto panels are jam-packed with circuitry. It will take a lot of work to get it back into shape yourself, and that means a lot of $$$ to have a shop fix it.

Q:My ABS light is on constantly and the emergency brake light comes on every so often but does not stay on constantly. I scanned the code at Advanced Auto which came up as C1276 left front release valve solenoid malfunction. Does anyone have any clue what may be causing this? Thanks!

An short to ground or voltage in the delivered torque circuit. A wiring problem, terminal corrosion, or poor connection in the delivered torque circuit. A communication frequency problem. A communication duty cycle problem. The EBCM is not receiving information from the PCM. Loose or corroded EBCM ground or PCM ground.

The manufacturer‘s warranty has expired and Dealer told me to get it checked, I‘ll need to have them do the full diagnosis which will cost $110 Plus Tax.I was told by someone that if I take the car to AutoZone, they‘ll scan the Check Engine error with computer and let me know what the problem code it is for Free.Is this true? The check engine light means you have some problem with emission control system. Any OBD11 reader can read and clear the code. However depending on the code and why it is on you'll need to fix the cause. It could be anything from a gas cap not sealed to a catalytic converter. Auto Zone does do free scans in hopes that what ever is wrong with the car you'll buy the part from them. In my opinion your better off to take the car to a shop and have them scan the car and fix what ever caused your problem. You can find an independent shop that works on MB in most towns.

Q:Right after everything was replaced I noticed the clock, radio, and auto locks weren‘t working. That got fixed. Now I find the auto start isn‘t working. The remote lights up when I press the start button. The switch in the car is on, the car just doesn‘t respond. Ideas?
