C. I do not like them. I drive in various bad conditions, and I was well taught. I do not like the trend of taking control from the operator and putting it in machinery's hands (for lack of a better term). Q:I take my pixs on manual or aperture priority and usually can get the light that I want, but not the sharpness. I am shooting on Fine and i always try to keep my ISO low if I can, I also remember to white balence for each new environment. Is there something else that i should be doing because I am so disappointed with my shots even though I love the composition.

1. Try shooting with an old camera that doesn't even have autofocus. (Nikons are great.) Because these cameras rely on manual focus, they tend to be a bit more user-friendly and easier to use. 2. Use a light meter. You can double check that your aperture and shutter speeds are correct. Get one that lets you try conversions, so you can take a meter reading and then convert the settings to as high of a shutter speed as possible. 3. If this doesn't work, then the problem is probably not that the camera isn't focused, but that you're moving as you take the picture. Try leaning against a wall, etc. for balance, and pull your arms close into your body; the further out they are as they hold the camera, the shakier they'll be. Also, don't press the shutter down suddenly; the camera will shake (snapping the shutter is actually a bad term). Push the shutter down steadily and smoothly. 4. If #3 doesn't work, you'll need a tripod. They're relatively cheap nowadays and ensure you a stable support for the camera. You can also buy a few cable releases, which are dirt cheap and allow you to not even need to touch the camera. Good luck!

Q:Took it to Auto Zone and the OBD Trouble Code is P0402 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation flow Excessive Detected? anyone got an idea on a cure for the problem, that and I guess with the trouble code it won‘t read whatever they read to pass emissions - at leats that is how it was explained to me?

This code is usually caused by a bad DPFE sensor (delta pressure feedback egr sensor) this is a dealer item best to have the dealer check it first, won't take long 1.0 hr

Q:I have a store bought diagnostic machine that the guys who work in the shop and sold it to me said it really does work, which I tend to believe since them saying so could result in them losing money. Anyhow, I have a small emissions system leak, did the gas cap, reset the light, it cam back on. So, I am calling around to see who can fix it for the least amount of money. My local dealership said they would have to still run a diagnostics test running me $100 more dollars even though i can tell them what the problem is. They said their diagnostic will tell them precisely where the leak is, which sounds a little fishy to me, i don‘t think that machine would tell them that, wouldn‘t it be a visual or some other type of inspection other than the diagnostic machine. also, regardless of the diagnostics, how much should this run me so i know who is trying to steal from me and who is being more honest? This is not covered under my extended warrenty.

This is a generally easy question to answer. The leak could be anywhere in your exhaust system. From the exhaust headers on the front/side of the engine, all the way back to the muffler. Generally, though, these leaks tend to be around the O2 (oxygen) sensors. Most cars have 2. Some could have 1-3 of them. Go to an exhaust specialist and ask them if they could help you find the leak. Otherwise, if it is not the exhaust, it could be a vacuum leak in the engine bay. Most engines now have rubber hoses that are all over the engine that allow air to be pulled through various areas of the engine. If you can do it yourself, check all the hoses and see if you can find one that is detached. A good source of reference would be a Hanes auto manual which you can pick up from Auto Zone. Q:I have noticed for a little while that while I am idle my car steering feel vibrates a little. The other day I was driving and noticed that whenever I accelrate or put my foot on the gas even a little it drove like the tires needed to be balanced very balaced (shaky rough etc). Now my malfunction indicator lamp is on which says there could be an problem with my emissions system. What does this problem sound like to you? It is a 3 yr old car with about 40,000 miles on it. Is this a serious problem? How much do you think it will cost for parts and labor. I have not had a new car before this one so I never had to decide whether or not to bring it to the dealership to get repaired or an auto mechanic in my area suggested by a friend. WIll the dealership rip me off?

The only way to tell for sure is to have the codes retrieved from the computer. Sounds like a misfiring problem to me. No way I can estimate the cost. If the car is out of warranty, take it to an independant garage as they will be cheaper than the dealer. Get recommendations from friends before choosing the garage.rkb

I believe the "Auto Running Lights" feature have to do with the sensitivity of the full lighting system coming on but am not sure...

Is that the lever-activated, or switch controlled transfer case? there are a couple of steps, here. this first step goes for either system, here. 1) Have someone YOU TRUST engage the 4x, get on the ground and watch for the front drive shaft to spin. If it is, then your hubs are not engaging. Common even with manual locking hubs. They go bad or get broken. Drive shaft not spinning, and you have the switch activated system; Your shift motor may be bad. the switch may be bad. Had a problem in a Bronco 2 with the shift motor not disengaging the 4x.
