Q:Kind of a weird question. I have to write a paper at school where I try to prove a thesis. I have always wondered personally if a more moderate sports car (such as an audi R8 aston martin db9 or Honda NSX) can be tweaked or modified to hold its own against more exotic super cars like lambos or Ferraris, Mclarens, SSC etc I only have a basic knowledge of cars, how torque and horsepower work, what‘s ideal when trying to build a fast car, and I understand that some cars can compete in theory (like driving in a straight line on ideal roads) but not when considering turning or other real life situations. I would like to know what type of modifications can be done or are ideal, and if they would give any of the examples listed a fighting chance against say a ventador or Ultimate aero or something of similar stats
Yes. And the Audi R8 V10 is as fast if not faster than many Lambo's Ferrari's and Porsche's and McLarens. In Japan, some rich race car drivers modify their Mazda RX-7's and Nissan Skylines to 600+ hp and they beat high end supercars on the race tracks. Look up Best Motoring or Tsukuba Battle on youtube to watch the many racing video's they have of Japanese cars versus Europe's and America's best.
Q:a few years ago i remember looking at yahoos main page and seeing a article about a car that was so fast that it needed extra weight in its trunk to keep from lifting off into the air. does anyone know what im talking about?
They can pop wheelies but unless your talking about a dragster like funny that's. That the only one I've seen get off the ground, and it never ends well for the car.
Q:A hydraulic lift is used to jack a 980-[kg] car 12 [cm] off the floor. The diameter of the output piston is 18 [cm] and the input force is 250 N. If the input piston moves 13 [cm] uniformly in 1.0 [s] each stroke, how high does the car moves up in each stroke?
Take it to another mechanic. Replacing an axle to cure a leak is a bit extreme. The axle seals are all that should need replacing.
Q:And How much should you be able to lift to pick up the back of a car. Im trying to lift the back of Suzuki Grand Vitara?
place a jack under said vehicle pump up jack car lifted.
Q:I replaced the shocks, but the front air lift bags in the coil springs wont hold air. I will be hauling a car. I kind of have no choice to get it fixed before I leave, so will this be ok? That should I expect?
suregonna be a roough ride though.
Q:Ok So I need to change one of my tires. It is a 2000 VW Passat GLX. The car is kind of low, I think thats how it came, I don't mean dropped like a low rider, but lower than most cars. When I do the oil changes, I need to lift it because the drain pan just fits. Anyways, I don't know exactly where to place the JACK, i dont know where to place it to lift it. I am worried I might place it in the wrong place and might break something or even cause serious damage to the lower body of the car. Can someone please help??? If possible can you please explain the position of the jack, for both front and back. I really don't want to cause any damage to my car. Thank You all for your help.
The answer is in your owners manual. Failing that, there is an indentation in the sill similar to an arrow head, place your jack on the downward facing area adjacent to the arrow head.
