- Absolutely they'll be different. The normal plastic bad is not permeable to much of anything. I'm not sure of your experiment, but if you are using starch and Iodine, with dialysis tubing, the iodine can pass in and out, but starch cannot because the pores in the dialysis tubing are too small. With a platic bag, there are no pores, per se, and so neither the iodine nor the starch can move in and/or out.

- That should be a compression fitting. If it's a brass fitting then they are one time use. You can get a new brass fitting, cut the PP tube clean with a knife or a razor blade - be careful not to cut yourself please, then install the nut over the tube, slip the compression ring over the tube and if there's an insert that goes inside the PP, insert that. Then push the hose into the fitting and slide the nut and ring to the threaded portion of the fitting and tighten it. Be careful to tighten it enough to seal but not so tight you cut through the pipe again. It's likely the reason you have the leak in the first place is because someone overtightened it. OR you can simply buy a replacement hose. I'd prefer a wire braid shielded pipe. Stronger and made with a professional fitting on the end, one you don't have to mess with. My opinion, replacing the tube is the better idea. And they're not stupidly expensive either. Good luck with your project. '')

The ice machine still works and the the motor comes on when I place a glass under the water spout bit no water comes out? I do have hard water. Could it be blocked from calcification? I had a freezer like this; I have been given it outdoors and presented it to Mr. Gardenhose. as quickly as i become able to get it fairly moist and scrub it, i found diverse the stains basically got here approximately to examine the paint (milk). as quickly as I have been given to scrubbing, the scent went away. - Wow! Are you wanting to replace all the tubing inside the door? This can be a very difficult if not impossible job to accomplish. There are countless components that require removal to expose all the tubing for replacement. Although you just ask about the door, the tubing going to the icemaker is embedded in the permanent foam insulation in the cabinet casing. It is also installed in the foam inside the door. They do this to prevent the water inside the tubing from freezing. Most water dispensers are located in the freezer side door. If you just want to replace the short stub of tubing that the water passes through at the dispenser, you should be able to cut off the part that is cracked or split and glue a short food grade piece of tubing on to it using food grade adhesive (available at restaurant supply stores). (Use a short collar of the next larger diameter tubing to join the two pieces.Also available at the supply store.) Good luck!
