Because of its large capacity and large volume, the whole transportation weight with nitrogen is about 470-490 tons, and due to the restricted transport conditions, the transportation becomes the critical issue for 278MVA/500kV single-phase double winding OLTC converter transformer. Transformers can be submerged in oil like the oil cooled transformers.The transformer varnish, cfore and paper can withstand transformer oil. Just use a clean transformer oil.

In your case, the frequency is so small that is not important. At high frequencies, the will be a frequency response of the transformer as the magnetic domains in the core cannot switch back and forth that fast; the already present magnetic hysteresis will increase substantially. You will have to consider phase and attenuation and possible harmonic generation at higher frequencies. Other than that, just go ahead and solve the problem the way you know.
