Q: Can solar panels be installed on walls?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on walls. Wall-mounted solar panels are known as solar wall systems, and they are a viable option for generating electricity from the sun. These panels are typically installed vertically on the sides of buildings or other structures, allowing for efficient use of space.
Q: I want to install a solar panel system and our power grid can't work in reverse(so it get its electricity from us). My question is how do you prevent electricity from our panel to go to the grid without disconnecting the grid? How can we also use the grid and the panel at the same time when the panel are not creating enough power?PS dont say ask an electrician
If you are grid-tied, then a standard solar electric system will always feed back into the grid if you are not utilizing more power in your home than is being generated by the solar panels and inverter system. It is possible that a grid isolation device designed to prevent direct back feeding is available, but haven't heard of one in common use. New laws in most areas of the US are now mandating that utilities allow grid-tied alternative energy systems. Double-check you local laws. Sometimes you can't take the utilities word for truth--most will automatically say 'no' and will only relent when you show up with the law in hand. Unfortunately, some utilities have figured out another way to shut down alternative energy pioneers--they demand multimillion dollar insurance policies covering damage that their equipment could sustain from your little PV system. Technically, they are still in compliance with the law, they just make it impossible for a homeowner to meet their requirements. If you are getting the runaround, go to your state representative for help. It's amazing how contrite those utility people can be when a state senator (or even US Senator) has just sent a letter asking them why they are stonewalling a law-abiding and well-meaning citizen. Good luck, and don't give up!
Q: I don't have a regulator connected as they are a little expensive for a pensioner, If I join the panels into line to the battery bank from the roof should that be OK.?
I am pretty darn sure you need the regulator because all the advertising says that you must have one if you have more than one small solar panel. I think you can overcharge your batteries otherwise. Solar power is still not cost effective, so most people have solar power because they care about the environment more than they care about expenses. If you are poor, it is better to skip solar power, unless you are in an area where there isn't access to electricity. For example, we have a cabin without electricity. I am a strong environmentalist, too. Solar power is too expensive still, for low income people. It is better to focus on energy conservation, imo. such as change your roof to white, to save on A/C, as the head of the US energy dept. says (he is a nobel prize winning physicist). PS Dave might be right on that stuff, i don't know. but all the ads say you need a regulator if you are going to have more than one solar panel so I assumed this was due to risk of overcharging.
Q: I'm building a solar panel for the first time and have the tabbed solar cells. I put together 4 strings of 9 cells. And the cells are each 0.55V, 3.6A.Because I'm going to be using the panel indoors and leaning it up against a window pane, I put them in a 24x36 inch poster-size frame. The frame has a plexiglass cover and a thick cardboard backing. My question to you is this. Will the cardboard backing up against the metal underside (positive side) of the solar cells be ok? I don't know if it may catch fire or if holes may burn through when there's full sun.My guess here is it should be ok. But maybe I'm wrong. If I am wrong, or if something should be put in between, please let me know what I should use. Thanks everyone!
No,do not use card board because your cells are quite powerful. Accident short might cause fire. Replace it with another piece of plexi-glass.
Q: will at least consider them for their home electricity? I've seen several articles that new technologies are now being used, but it doesn't seem to be promoted to residential apps. I've even seen that the solar technology will be used in paints in the near future.
There are lot of cheap solar panels today, Its all in the internet and most of them are made in China. Expand your knowledge and learn from a renowned solar company about the Cheap Solar Panels. Visit our site and contact us today!
Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of hurricanes?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of hurricanes. However, it is important to ensure that the solar panels are properly installed and secured to withstand the strong winds and potential debris that hurricanes can bring. Additionally, selecting hurricane-resistant solar panels and implementing proper maintenance and inspection procedures can help to mitigate potential damage and ensure their long-term functionality in these areas.
Q: If I wanted to put some solar panels on my roof, how many would i need and how many watts would they have to be to be able to power my whole house?
all depend to the surface of your solar panel
Q: First of all is it possible? I do not know how much electricity my dehumidifier but could someone give me an idea of how much this would cost to do? A link to a solar panel or equipment that would do the job would be nice too. Thanks in advance.
Solar Dehumidifier
Q: I have heard a lot about solar panels and I want to know how these solar panels works and is it really possible to generate electricity using solar panels. And what is the cost of getting a solar panel installed?
Solar okorder
Q: How much Electricity does a standard Solar panel producein terms of Watts and in terms of Units( i.e. electricity meter attached in our House)If I have 20 Solar panels and an inverter , how much electricity will I Be able to harness and store (state that in terms of volts)Can I run Arefridgerator, Iron, Heaters, Plasma T.V. and other high Electricity Consuming Devices.
Take a look on OKorder at some of the books on how to design solar energy systems. It is a bit more complicated than you might expect. I'm not sure what you consider to be a standard solar panel, but the 3' ones I have produce about 5 watts of power in full sunlight. Put simply, you need to convert the power from the solar cells (variable voltage) into a constant voltage usable for charging a batteries. Most of the low cost modules for this purpose can't handle more than about 00 watts. Larger systems are available that handle thousands of watts but they are quite pricey. Since you can't take out more than you put into your battery system, you can calculate about how long you can run a high-current appliance based upon its wattage rating, that of the battery system (adjusted for loss of converting to AC), and the charging system.
