- Q: Hello, I am shopping for solar panels for my home and there are so many to choose from. My house uses 40 Kw of power a day. If you had to choose from the output power of a solar panel from below, which one would you choose and why would you choose it? 2 Volts 4 Amps 48Watts2 Volts 8.5 Amps 02Watts6 Volts 7 Amps 2Watts24 Volts 4.2 Amps 00.8Watts24 Volts 8 Amps 95Watts
- There is more to sizing a system than simply selecting panels. I would suggest that you contact a solar installer to do a bid on your system. The quote should be free, and you can always say no. If a house used 40 kWh per day in our area, that would suggest a 6 kW array to offset substantially all the energy usage over the course of a year. Serious panels tend to be in the neighborhood of 200 watts nowadays, and that would mean 30 of those. You could size the system smaller, of course, if you wanted to offset a smaller percentage of your electricity. If there is any way that you can reduce the energy requirments, that will save you more money than putting in big solar. For example, if you can cut that in half by adding insulation and more efficient appliances, you will save more money than if you got a big array to power everything as-is.
- Q: discription how does solar panels save energy
- I'm definitely no expert in the field but hope to learn much more in the future. I'm in the infancy stage of researching as many options as possible in the design and construction of a total green house. That being said, a particular local news story sparked my interest when they investigated the cost effectiveness of residential solar panel systems. Here in Austin, Texas, through subsidies and incentives offered, you can install a system that costs roughly 22.5k for about 7. Apparently these deductions come from a federal incentive (which is a very small portion) combined with those set by the city itself. Austin is a pretty progressive city so I imagine their incentives might be a little better than most but you can call your city's general info line (3) and do a little more digging. Another option you might have is renting the equipment. I was told yesterday that a company here in town would allow for the installation and use for a monthly rate. I know how tight cash can be in school and 7 thousand might not be tangible. The whole issue of energy conservation is so prevalent these days that new info is constantly coming out. Give your current energy provider a call and see what they can tell ya. I hope you find something that works for you. -G
- Q: Can solar panels be used in countries with limited sunlight?
- Yes, solar panels can still be used in countries with limited sunlight. While solar panels are most effective in areas with abundant sunlight, they can still generate electricity in countries with limited sunlight. Although the energy output might be lower compared to sunnier regions, advancements in solar technology, such as increased efficiency and better storage solutions, allow solar panels to be a viable renewable energy option in countries with limited sunlight.
- Q: I contend:As far as the solar panels causing global warming I'll try to explain. If you put a black panel on the ground or on your house and don't connect it to anything, it will absorb solar energy (heat) during daylight and release it at night (radiation). The net heat gain is zero. If you hook up a solar panel in the same place but hook it up to batteries, charge the batteries during sunlight hours and using that energy to electrically heat the home at night. The panels will absorb solar energy during the day but will convert that to electrical energy in the batteries instead of radiating it back into space at night. The result is a net gain in earth's temperature.Right or wrong?
- Solar energy is very inefficient, and so most of the sunlight that is absorbed by the solar cells is re-radiated back as heat. But that leads to a bigger point. Global warming is the ability, or inability of the Earth to radiate heat/light out past the atmosphere into space. Once the light reaches the surface and is absorbed, it doesn't matter whether it was by a black panel or a solar panel. Energy is energy. A black panel does not radiate energy into space, it emits it into the atmosphere. The use of electrical energy also generates heat which is transferred to the atmosphere sooner or later. The advertised culprit of global warming is atmospheric greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, that reflect infrared wavelength energy from the surface back down to the surface. The heat generated by sunlight on a black panel, or from the use of electrical energy, is reflected back by the greenhouse gases instead of radiating out into space, no matter what the source. So no, solar panels do not contribute to global warning simply because of their transfer of light into electricity instead of infrared/heat. The source of the heat (black panel or electrical use) is not the (whole) problem. It is the greenhouse gases that trap the heat that is the problem, according to the global warming theory. I hope this helps.
- Q: I want to make 2V 4.5A solar panel to charge my battery used in my RC car project. I just like to know how should I amplify the current for 4.5A. I need the total circuit diagram. Can anyone help me. Please. I need some affordable methods please.

- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a film set?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a film set. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which can be used to power various equipment and lighting on a film set. This renewable energy source offers a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional power sources.
- Q: How do solar panels affect the roof warranty?
- Solar panels generally do not void a roof warranty, but they may have some impact on it. The installation process of solar panels involves drilling holes in the roof, which can potentially cause leaks if not done properly. Therefore, it is important to hire a reputable installer who is experienced in working with solar panels and understands the intricacies of a roof. Some roofing manufacturers may require specific mounting systems to be used, and failure to comply with these requirements may void the warranty. It is advisable to consult with both the solar installer and the roofing manufacturer to understand any potential impact on the roof warranty before installing solar panels.
- Q: Can solar panels be used for powering electric boats or marine vessels?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power electric boats or marine vessels. Solar panels are a sustainable and efficient source of energy that can be used to charge the batteries of electric boats, providing a clean and renewable power source for propulsion. This helps reduce dependence on fossil fuels and minimizes the environmental impact of marine transportation.
- Q: DIY, buying solar panels, room is barely 200 sq. ft. have a 5000 btu air conditioner, how many watts do I need, thinking of buying 75 watt solar panels, have space on the roof.
- Yes you can.. Use it to charge a 2 volt battery then use the battery power to run a 2 volt halogen bulb. Would be much better to power some LED's with the battery -- just as much light but will last longer.
- Q: I live in the UK, I have no savings (so would have to take out a loan of about ?8000), I don't know how long I plan to stay in my house, I might want to move in a year or two to take advantage of a better job so I want to keep the option open of being able to sell my house without having to pay off the cost of having the panels fitted (which I probably won't get back on the increased value they add to my house). What are the main advantages of having solar panels? What are the pitfalls the ever so eager cold callers with quotas to fill don't tell you about?Basically is it worth having them?Thankyou.
