- No,they are not at all comfortable for long stretches you would probably find yourself on the floor the first time you turned in your sleep.I have what we call a King single bed in Australia.It is longer wider than a normal single bed(I think you Americans call them twin beds,why I'll never know,lol) It is a very comfortable bed doesn't take up as much room as a double.

- It's a question of priority and what matters most to you. I usually think of these things in terms of which option gives me the most utility. In other words what gives me the most functionality that I don't have now. So ... Why do you need a bed frame for the mattress? What does it do except raise the mattress up higher (and allow you to collect dust under it)? I slept on a mattress on the floor (with carpet under it) for years. It's the mattress that matters, not the bed frame. And if you really have a Tempurpedic you have a top end memory foam mattress. If you really want the mattress off the floor you can make a bed frame for about $75. That said, surround sound will only work for some programs (it's useful for movies though). Just don't waste money on a cheap system. It's better to buy quality ... even if you have to do it over time. For example, good speakers can last a lifetime. I suggest considering a quality HTIB or a used surround receiver and some quality speakers.

- My dogs prefer MY bed, but that's not an option for them. That doesn't stop them from asking though :) LOL My dogs are chewers so nice fluffy beds don't last long. I give them blankets towels now. If it has my scent on it, they love it even more. I always catch my border collie sleeping on my clothes if I leave them on the floor beside my bed. I guess it's like a security blanket for her.
