Q:I have replaced a heater core on VW jetta vr6 2000 and after i was done i started the car and the windshield wipers handle was on and the wipers started moving and i turned the handle down and didnt move since then!!i made sure the wipers harness is tightned good and nothing happened!! they arent working and i replaced the fuses toowhat do you think is the problem??
Ouch, well it could be one of those deals where it just went out. Unbeleivable huh but it happens. The best thing you can do is just check for power at the wiper motor with the wiper switched turned on. Now if you dont have power and you checked the fuses and they have power. The next step is to check your wiper switch at the handle. you should have power going in and when you have the wipers on high you should have power coming out, Do that check in that order and you should find it.
Q:I have changed the motor and changed the switch on the steering column.I have also checked the fuses. The windshield washer spray isn‘t working either. Does anyone have any idea what else it could be, or what I can do to fix it?
Check the wiring, look closely at the ground for the wipers. you should use a 12 volt test light to see if you are getting power to the wiper motor, if you are, again look over the ground , most folks don't pay attention to grounds.
Q:I drive a 2012 mazda3. I smell the windshield wiper fluid within 2 seconds of spraying it. What might be causing this and how can I fix it? tia :)
The excess washer fluid is running down the windshield and the odor is from it being sucked into the fresh air intake.
Q:does anyone know how to remove wipers on a 2005 jeep wrangler TJ model?
There's usually a little clip on them that you can push in and push the wipers off. As a sidenote, I used to work at a jiffy lube, we had to change wipers a lot. About half the time the things wouldn't come off so I just snapped them off. They're just plastic, and the metal hooks that hold them on should withstand. If you're replacing them, breaking the old ones doesn't matter.
Q:Does the shuttle have windshield wipers?
Yes they do. They are a nice touch to your Bob Marley/Flower rainbow painted space shuttle with a crew wearing pink space suits.
Q:I have a 93 Camry - can anyone out there tell me how to re-connect the actuator arm? Or is it just best to take it to a mechanic?
Well it depends upon what you mean by the actuator arm. If you mean the connecting rod that passes between the two wiper arm mounts under the cowl, most often these are nylon press on sockets that fit on a ball on the windshield wiper motor. Sometimes they just pop off, though mostly in winter when the wiper is frozen to the windshield and the stress of trying to move but being unable to causes it to separate. In this case it can just be popped back on. In other cases the nylon bushing has worn out and then it needs to be replaced. Often you must buy the arm too, as they do not sell the bushing separately. Now if you are talking about the wiper arm iself and where it connects to the drive shaft that turns it, that has a little flip up cover and a small bolt underneath the cover that you can tighten once you have both arms situated so that they will not collide in motion or strike the windshield frame on either end of their range of motion. FInally if you are talking about the blade arm itself, and theway it hooks into a sort of sheep's hook on the end of the wiper arm, it is not very difficult simply to snap it back into place yourself. If you look at the other arm you will be able to see how it fits.
Q:They are brand new and the correct size as well. How do I fix this? Thanks
The windshield has road film on it. Clean it with alcohol.
Q:1990 Ford Probe
There is no timing in windshield wipers it will either be a problem with the switch itself or the location of the wiper assembly when its bolted on.
Q:I have a Saab 9-5 year 2000. Windshield wipers do not move. Help?
Same exact thing happened to me as the first two people who commented. I had the motor replaced for a few hundred dollars and the next day it broke again. Took it back they replaced another motor claiming that the first one was faulty.then broke again. There was an underlying problem causing this and it stemmed from the transmission and a broken 'pin'. (I had a 97 Buick Park Avenue so not sure if the term pin is used in all vehicles) Take it to a couple of people or you may end up paying $600 fro no good reason at all. I am currently still arguing with the mechanic about this because he just will not admit that his shop made a mistakeALSO ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ASK FOR YOUR OLD PARTS BACK! I wish I would have then I could of had the first motor tested to see if it was really faultynow I cannot sue or do anything about it at all because I have no proof!
