Q:So today I decided to get both my tragus' done, a top cartlidge piercing and a scaffolding piercing in one sitting and now I'm in agony and the only aftercare I was given is a tiny bag of rock salt.... SALT!?Any ideas on how to get the swelling down / pain to go away and any tips on how to reduce the chance of getting them infected?

Okay I have my tragus and my cartlidge pierced. I got those two in one sitting, which I regret because the healing process was HORRIBLE. For surely you should ICE them! A LOT! It helps so much with swelling. Also, they should have given you anti-bacterial stuff.. Use that as often as possible! And also remember to move the jewelry around so it doesn't get all crusty and stuck... Good luck!

Q:is it possible to have an industrial piercing done in 2 stages? so like 1 hole first and then a few weeks later the 2nd hole done. ive found a place that for 2 holes is cheaper than having the whole process done as one. Please help :)

yes it is possible. I know people who have done that. But I suggest getting it done at once because it will hurt less in the long run. Getting your cartilage done hurts for about 2 weeks and then get the top part done that is another 2 weeks. So to get it done together it will only hurt for 2 weeks in instead of 4.

Q:I just got my scaffold piercing done today and everything went well. I was just wondering how long the healing process would take? Does it vary with different people? And is using sea-salt and warm water the best way to clean it?Cheers x

Scaffolds usually take 6-12 months to heal - if you got it done with the long bar to start with, expect it to be longer than that and a lot more painful and tricky to heal. If it was done correctly, with two separate bits of jewellery first, it'll be easier. It does vary with different people, but not usually by that much - if the recommended healing time is six months, yours is not going to be properly healed in a month even if it feels like it. At five months it might be. Yes, sea salt and warm water is good. Twice a day - no more and no less.

Q:i had an industrial piercing 2 days ago and was just wondering roughly how long untill i can change the bar? ive seen a few i like and want to change the boring one asap,..also, do u think my ears look crowded??? i dont have any pictures but on my left ear i have earlobe, tragus and rook, and my right ear i have ear lobe, anti-tragus and industrial..just wondering what u think.. thankss x

4-6 weeks isn't long enough. You have two fresh piercings that are connected to each other which gives you a bit more of a high risk of one not healing properly. You need to give your body time to let the holes fully heal. Take it from someone who took out her industrial bar 3 months into having it to clean it and had the top hole close up. You really should give it at least 6 months if not longer to fully heal.

Q:So I'm going to get a scaffold/industrial piercing, and I had a few questions:-does your ear have to be a special quot;shapequot;? Like I mean does you outer ear cartilage rim have to stick more so it can be pierced?My outer cartilage rim is a little flat but it still sticks up -Would this make my piercing reject?Thanks! :)))

You can still get the scaffold done, but it might not take to your body well. You also need to be careful of the piercer that you choose. If your piercer places the bar in the wrong place, it can cause keloids or stress bumps. This might also happen if you don't have the right ear. I got an industrial, and my piercer didn't seem to put the bar exactly where I wanted on one end. Although I took very good care of my piercing, and didn't put any stress on it, I still got a keloid on that side of the ear, and it wouldn't go away. A lot of my friends had beautiful industrials, and I couldn't figure out why mine looked the way I did until I did a little more research, and the keloid appeared because my piercer did not pierce my ear in the correct location. I had to remove the piercing for the keloid to disappear. This might happen to those who don't have ears that are fit for an industrial. If you do decide to get it, please don't mess with it (although it's hard not to). When you sleep, try cupping your hand over your ear so that you don't put pressure on the piercing. :-) If you don't know what side you'd like it on, get it on the side that you sleep on the least. You may get a bit of a stress bump around the piercing, but these tend to disappear once the piercing heals up.
