Q:Okay, well driving to school i noticed that the car kept shaking and making bumpy noises, well i went to school, parked and went to classes. i left 4th period to go home and eat or whatever and the same thing happened, the bumpiness. i pulled to the side of the road and checked. the tire was apparently pushed in or like off the track of the base. i went home going 10 mph to be safe and in the garage. I jacked the car (lifted it) and took the hub cap off, but now the nuts/bolts are too tight, i can‘t get anywhere past that. I am also wondering if i could just place the tire back on track and then get air and if not then put the spare. the roads and filled with black ice and such, huge storm recently, please help
Put the spare on and take it to a tire place to get the regular tire fixed. If you can't get the lug nuts off, start with the car all the way on the ground and loosen them by hitting the lug wrench with a hammer or your foot. Only loosen them a little bit with the car on the ground. Once you get them started, lift the car and finish taking the nuts off.
Q:What kind of tools are used?Approx how many tool are used ?total of tools price when finish getting all tools?
um to do what exactly??i mean u can get into the hundreds of thousands of dollars easily buying basic shop equipment. basic tools to do repairs ureself on most stuff will run u about 600 bucks. since u didn't specify do u mean on ANY repair possible? because if u do u can figure about 30k per vehiclemaybe more as far as number of tools it would depend on what r trying to dojust an example i do repairs myself in most cases and i have um around 5k tools.if u count every tool i have around here somewhere to do most jobs u can call snap-on or matco and buy a tool box that will cover most stuff for around 5 thousand dollarsbut u will still need some air tools and hoist and jacks/jack stands.ect
Q:I would think a car with a longer wheelbase handles better since itt would reduce rolloverbut then why would drag cars have such long wheelbase if there is no handling involved???
Well typically the longer the wheelbase, the wider the turning radius
Q:Does anyone have a 4-post vehicle lift? What is the best one on the market taking into consideration price and quality? I see they range from about $1700 to $4600. I‘m thinking the $1700 might be poor quality and the $4600 one is a little pricey. I want to use it to store a vehicle and for maintenance work on my cars.
my local guy got an eagle global 2 post st less than 2000 and he used it every dayif u r storing a car i think a 4 post is bestmaybe 2 post is OK but i cant wrap my mind around it. call up some lift makers and make them give u a list of customers to call.
Q:Can anyone confirm, please; for a 300SEL (air suspension), is there a special way to jack it using a car-lift? Can you simply lift it with all 4 wheels hanging or do you have to do something special?
rwd can turn on a sixpence if you front wheel brake and rear wheel accelerate when turning.don't try it on the street.
Q:I took my car to the dealership to have it rust proofed. How do we know if the dealer did a good job or not? I looked underneath my car, and I dont see much of that black tar rust proof at all Hardly any. So , some tips on how to know whether or not it was a good job would be nice. Thanks
honeymoon registry are become very popular for couples that have an already established home. some people on here will think it's tacky but it is becoming the biggest thing and alot of guest actually like the idea better then buying expensive cookware the bride and groom will most likely end up returning anyway.
Q:A 12,000-N car is raised using a hydraulic lift which consists of a U-tub with arms of unequal area, filled with oil with a density of 800 kg/m^3 and capped at both ends with tight-fitting pistons. The wider arm of the U-tube has a radius of 18.0cm and the narrower arm has a radius of 5.00 cm. The car rests on the piston on the wider arm of the U-tube. The pistons are initially the same level. What is the force that must be applied to the smaller piston in order to lift the car after it has been raised 1.20 m? For purposes of this problem, neglect the weight of the pistons
with wiper switch off push wiper down as for as they go and tighten nut and you should be good to go
Q:my car was towed but i put the brake on an set the alarm
They can take it if you parked some where you wern't suppose to. Also, they have their ways wkith things. I know with the alarm-if it starts to go off, but the front of the car is lifted up so many feet it will shut it off. Atleast that is what I have heard from many people. If they have a reason to do it then yes. It's like firemen. If there is a fire and someone parks by a fire hydrant then guess what they are going to brake the window and they will not be liable for it. Sorry.
Q:i have a cutlass supreme 86 and was planning on lifting it but i dont think the shocks will fit in the rear after i do that. wat should i do
Buy longer shocks. If you lift it 3 inches, buy 3 longer shocks.
