- Q:Does it need to uncover the carpet of car room and dry and coat oil for components after the car submerged
- It is strongly recommended to do a comprehensive inspection and cleaning in 4S shop, or if they rust or mildew, it would be bad.
- Q:i was told that steam cleaning a carpet that has a bad odor will actually cause that odor to remain in the carpet forever. the reason i ask is i plan on renting a house with a buddy of mine and the carpet in the house smells of urine, previous owner had like 4 dogs and 6 cats. smells bad but it is still tolerable. the renter told us if we paint and steam clean the carpets our first month is free. sounds good to me. but will steam cleaning the carpet with my bissel steam cleaner cause the odor to be quot;bakedquot; into the carpet for ever. or would it be better to buy the stuff you sprinkle on and then just vacum a couple of times?
- Pretreat any spots you see ahead of time with a really good cleaner like Folex and then go ahead and steam clean the whole carpet. You may have to do it several times.

- Most people don't remove the old tack strips, however the old ones depending on how long they've been in place, can sometimes be worn. The wood can get a little weak or the tacks themselves may not hold the new carpet in place depending on the type of backing on the new carpet. You may also want to consider removing the old padding simply because of the amount of dirt and liquids that may have been absorbed over the years. When it comes down to it, it's about how much you can budget to the project.

- I don't live in the states but if you are looking at carpet... I would look at the density of the carpet and the material used to make it. in the synthetic material you tend to have the Olefin being the bottom end, polyester being the middle and Nylon being the top. If you want to save money but let it last longer upgrade the underpad and use a less expensive carpet. The extra thickness in the underpad will extend the life of the carpet

So, I need a rug, my living room isnt very big at all, and in fact the living room is kinda long, but not 'big'. - A 2-foot by 3-foot rug would be fine at your doorway, but it won't give the rest of the room any protection, just a place to wipe your feet when you enter the house. Your room-area rug can be as big as the room will accomodate...but the bigger the rug, of course, the more $$$ you'll have to invest. You could start with a 6-foot by 9-foot in front of your sofa, which you could probably get at Walmart/Target/K-Mart for around $125. It will be nylon, and it won't last an eternity, but it should do until your puppy matures! Then you could look at investing in a nicer rug that won't get chewed on...or you-know-whatted on.....Good luck!

- The most you will probably pay if you can find a decent sale is 2-3 dollars per square foot materials and installed. This is a high estimate in my opinion, but and estimate nonetheless. 11*12=132*2=264 (132*3=396). I agree with trying to carpet shampoo first. Kind of pointless to replace carpet in only one room if you can shampoo it to a decent state.
