Q:is hydrogen a metal
As a huge metalhead, I feel obligated to answer Deathcore: Black Tongue Chamber Of Malice Ingested Vulvodynia Death Metal: Bloodbath Acranius Cannibal Corpse Dying Fetus Groove Metal: Revengia Psycho Choke Syntezis Lamb Of God Metalcore: Nightshade Killswitch Engage(Howard left) Trivium Living Sacrifice Nu Metal: Rage Against The Machine(I don't think they're active anymore) Slipknot Disturbed Korn Thrash Metal(Old): Testament Exodus Sodom Annihilator Thrash Metal(New): Evile Suicidal Angels Ultra-Violence Chronosphere
Q:there is so many different metal genres, what is the difference between them all? Alternative MetalAtmospheric MetalBlack MetalDark MetalDeath MetalDoom MetalElectro MetalFolk MetalGothic MetalHeavy MetalIndustrial MetalMelodic MetalMetalMetalcoreNu MetalPower MetalProgressive MetalRock MetalSludge MetalSpeed MetalStonerSymphonic MetalThrash MetalVisual Keidont have to answer all of them but ones you know what they are like describe them, example- black metal shrieks , and death metal is like cookie monster
I don't understand. it just dont seem right. Yes, it's okay I guess?; i mean, ur question sounds too vague to make any sense; Anyway, I prefer thrash, power, and death, not black. Because I'm more of a shred/technical dude, and black metal bands rarely play solos, plus they sometimes want to play poorly on purpose to be more trve(with the exception of blackened death, symphonic black, etc.)
Q:eh... that sounds weird and I'm having trouble wording it out.... glam/ hair metal= metal?or are they two totally different types of music?
Iron man, Steel, Magneto (kinda), and the Metal Men
Q:What I mean is, bands that combine two or more genres with either hardcore punk or heavy metal, such as Jazz+Rap+Hardcore = Candiria or Death Metal + 70's prog rock = Opeth, what are some other interesting bands you've heard?
Any Metal in Jewelry with a Color added means it's a mixture of Metals. These are not perfectly the same thing every time,.. they can be ANYTHING any time. This Adds up to Yes, but people are going to EXPECT the added metal to be something they know.
Q:I can't decide which is betterFavourite Black metal band - SatyriconFavourite Death metal band - Bloodbath
Nu-Metal is a vauge term mainly becasue alot of people use it to describe any form of metal they percieve as false. But the standard definition (Or at least the one ive heard from encyclopedic websites like Wikipedia, Encyclopedia Metallum, etc.) is that its alternative metal that incorperates rap influence, such as slipknot, Linkin Park, Limp Biskit, etc.. I would classify the band in those videos as more groove or thrash metal.
Q:A metal that doesnt absorb much light.
folk metal is basically like, if you went back in time 300 years, and played the same music they played, but in the style of metal, and quite often incorporates traditional instruments, none of which I actually know the name of, but check out the band Eluveitie to see what I'm talking about. Symphonic Metal is suppose to sound Symphonyic, as in, it's suppose to sound big and grandiose like classical music, or Opera, and often incorporates the use of a symphony, or at least synthesizers which sound like a symphony, the best example I can think of is the album Equilibrio by the band Xystus Power metal is basically symphonic metal without the symphony, just rocking metal with big powerful vocals, which quite often sound slightly Operatic, basically bands that sound like they have Iron Maiden as a major influence, best example I have is... Iron Maiden, or maybe Jag Panzer. death metal is simple, cookie monster vocals and blast beats, example: Cannibal Corpse. Heavy metal is 1 of two things, it's either a) an umbrella term meaning all metal, or b) strictly traditional metal like the 70's and 80's, or bands that are directly influenced by them. black metal is difficult to explain, something in the way the riffs are performed, if you've heard it before you can't miss it, and ear piercing shrieking vocals, check out the album we own the mountains by Elite, it's an excellent album and a good example of what black metal sounds like.
Q:What are the different genres of metal? And could you name a band as an example please?I do know some but theres so many people always talk about it gets confusing hahaThanks
Power metal is the genre that usually has those kinds of lyrics, but genres aren't named for lyrical themes alone; you could have any of those genres with lyrics about mythology and fantasy.
Q:amorphous metals have shown to be an attractive choice for transformer core materials.what an amorphous metal is actually?and why it is so competitives?
I think Metal Gear Solid 1 had the better narrative, but because of better graphics and play controls, my vote goes for MGS2. It was very similar to 1 by design and like 1 had us meet a lot of colorful characters and a deep involved plot with twists. I think MGS3 was weakened by all the micromanaging of feeding and had less interesting characters, and4 had too long cutscenes a lot of boss battles against people I didn't feel I knew in any sense. A lot could have been compacted in MGS4 to make it better in my opinion, and the saved time could have been used elsewhere. So yeah, Metal Gear Solid 2 is my choice.
Q:Any suggestions of good post-metal bands like Isis, Pelican, Neurosis, Minsk
KoRn nor Slipknot is brutal. I used to listen to metal all the time, still somewhat of an expert. Music itself is not brutal, but some of the lyrics can be far too intense. Want something brutal? Check out Dethklok. They seem to be the only real Death metal musicians. The rest suck. I think metal musicians honestly overuse the word brutal to make themselves and their music look cool. Really, they don't know half of what real brutality can be. EDIT**I couldn't agree with you anymore! Death metal does suck, big time. Nu-metal is A LOT better than Death Metal. Death Metal is a bunch of wannabe ******* that all sound alike. They think they're all bada** with all this brutal lyrics, yet in their music, they won't even make one single word noticeable. I like KoRn and Slipknot. I wasn't hating on them at all, just letting you know. Follow the Leader will still always be one of my top albums. I like a lot of Slipknot's stuff. They're more original than any death metal band out there. 9 members and they can handle that sh*t. Actually, 8 now. Unless they replaced him? Haven't been up to date with them in awhile. KoRn has the most originality out of mostly any band ever. Their new stuff sucks, I'm sorry. Their new album just went down hill. But the rest are bada**. Especially their songs with Ice-Cube and Fred Durst.
Q:I'm looking for some newer heavy metal bands that bare a resemblance sound-wise to classic heavy metal. Help me out? My two favorite classic metal bands are Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.
It's hard to say. Quite frankly, it's impossible to determine the origin of any type of music as it is an evolutionary process and you can only determine what genre of music preceded and may have influenced it. As for metal, it can be traced back to the late 60's and 70's with Black Sabbath, Iron Butterfly, Blue Cheer, etc and of course, there was the new wave of British heavy metal in the late 70's. Back to NWOBHM, I guess that's where most people consider other types of metal to have branched off from. Thrash emerged soon after in the late 70's and early 80's, and death soon after thrash. Death metal was never as popular as thrash or heavy metal, which is why a lot of its origins can't be traced as easily. Death bands that emerged in the early 80's had elements of both thrash and death. One example is Possessed who are considered both death and thrash, but seen as highly influential on the death metal genre. A few more early death metal bands are Atheist and Carcass though they are considered grindcore, particularly on their early albums. Though the roots of death metal go back to the 80's, there has been a new wave of death metal in the 90's. Bands like Cannibal Corpse and others (I don't listen to much recent death metal) have becomeincreasingly popular. This in turn caused a massive emergence of melodic death metal originating in Europe, particularly Scandinavian countries such as Finland. In my opinion, many types of metal originated in Europe and later caught on in America. However, one very American genre is thrash. Which is a whole other story and I've already written you an essay. Hahaha. ;)
