We were thinking about getting hardwood or carpet but a friend told us to get ceramic tiles, so we looked into it and found that ceramic tile was better for our needs. Ceramic Tiles have a lot of different designs offering a lot of different variety while on the other hand hardwood floor only has different shades. Ceramic Tiles are better because they resist moisture making them better for kitchens and bathrooms. They‘re fairly dirty.Thanks!: Porcelain is a TYPE of ceramic, so there is no difference. Do you mean, the difference between porcelain and earthenware or some other type of ceramic? Or do you mean cast resin? I am thinking that the solid houses are probably cast resin, which is sort of like a heavy plastic. You might want to take a few of the nicest ones to a couple of different antique or collectible dealers in your area to look at. Don't sell them to the first person who offers to buy them, if anyone does, but get several different opinions. You should also try searching online (eBay is good, but it is not the only place) for other pieces that look like yours, and compare them. That will give you some idea of what they are and how much they are worth. For washing, try wiping them very gently with a damp cloth in just a few spots to see if anything flakes off. If things seem OK, then you could wash them very carefully one at a time in a dishpan of warm, soapy water with a very soft brush, but watch out especially if you have any type of gold or metallic trim. Don't get any labels wet or get water up inside the figurines. Set them out to air dry before you pack them up. If you do sell them, you might want to take them to the UPS Store to have them packed properly and mailed to the buyer.

Q:Using 3/4 interlocking plywoodCurrent ceramic floor has cabinets installed over it - new floor will be laminate and they recommend Luan plywood how am I going to match original height so cabinets backsplash and plumbing all go back at correct height?: All depends on how the ceramic was installed. Only after you rip out the ceramic will you know your heights. I ve seen ceramic over a cement mud job ( excellent) . This is 3.4 or more. Over cement board ( good) cement board is 1/2 plus tile thickness. I ve seen done on luan and directly to sub floor (BAD). Laminate does always need to go over luan, ANY flat , hard, solid surface will do. So your new TG 3/4 is fine You don t even need the TG just regular ply will work and be cheaper. Q:hey everyone!, it appears i need braces. I am getting them at the end of this month. i am not exactly thrilled about it but I know it‘s worth it in the long run. Now my question is should I get ceramic(clear) braces or traditional metal braces? i am thinking about getting the ceramic(clear ones) but am still not 100% sure.So if anyone here has ever had ceramic braces could they please tell me weather or not you liked them? Same goes to those who have worn metal braces!!!THANKS!: Ok, I talked to an ortho resident and was told this: Ceramic brackets pros: look really nice, good for upper teeth that you tend to see the most when you talk and smile. Cons: ceramic is harder and more abrasive than your teeth, so you don't want them on your lower teeth - if your upper teeth touch your ceramic brackets it will wear down your upper teeth. They are also more fragile, and parts of the bracket are more likely to break. And we rely on having as little friction as possible to move teeth, and ceramic brackets have the highest friction against the metal wires that we use. And also, this is really important - ceramic brackets have a stronger bond to the tooth than metal brackets. Sounds good right. but it means they are difficult to take off, they tend to crumble and break into pieces when you take them off so they have to cut the rest of the bracket off on the tooth/teeth the brackets broke on attempted removal. There have been many instances where part of the patient's tooth has come off with the bracket since it bonds so strongly to the tooth. This isn't meant to discourage you, just to inform you of possibilities. Hope that helps!

Because it has already been fired to a much higher temperature than your oven goes to, you can heat it without worry of it breaking. But going from really cold to hot, or hot to cold, fast could make it crack or break from the shock. The best way is to put the tile in a cool oven and heat it up gradually to warm. When you take it out of the oven do not put it on a cold counter because that will shock it. You can then put it in your bread basket.
