Q:My windshield wipers park on the windshield when I turn my car off. A 1992 towncar. Is there an adjustment ??
Turn the wipers off first, they have a park facility. If you turn the car off when wipers working then you are just cutting the supply off and they will stop wherever they are at that time. The wiper needs to stop before you turn off the car. Hope this helps
Q:Yesterday morning, I started my car, with the defrost, and began scraping the ice off. After i finished the car, I started my wipers to get the extra snow and ice off my windshield. When i went on my lunch break that day, i noticed that the one on the passenger‘s side was loose (just the actual blade, not the whole thing) so i think that can just pop back in. But the one on the right will start about an inch, and then not go anywhere. I read online that i may have busted the motor, or a bolt might just be loose. I can‘t see anything wrong, but i have no idea what to look at :(anyone know anything about this???
you probably bent more than an axle I would guess the hub bearing assy possibly bent.possibly the lower control arm as well. curbs are unforgiving when you hit them. Take it and get an estimate for repairs/see whats wrong before buying parts.
Q:i have a civic hatch that im almost done building and one problem that keeps going through my mind is that i have a rollcage in the car and that rollcage goes through the front and blocks where the windshield wiper assy. goes. i dont want to cut the left bar ( to keep the car stiff) any ideas?
check there is the correct amount of fluid in the gearbox and it is a deep red colour.
Q:When I was a little kid I remember windshield wipers pointed towards the center of the windshield and went up and down opposite each other in a staggered fashion. Then at some point they started pointing in the same direction and moving up and down at the same pattern and rate. I‘ve always wondered why this changed.Does anyone know what I‘m talking about? If so, don‘t you think the old way got the windshield cleaner? Thanks!
You had a European car when you were a little kid. I've seen that particular kind of w/s wiper. Not all carmakers do things the same. Even today there's a variety of w/s wiper types. If it's any consolation, I like antiques that work like they should too.
Q:im addicted to windshield wipers . and can you guys give me websites if possible please
i'M SURE THE COLIN MCRAE games use windshield wipers but I don't think you CAN DO IT as you please it's just for the DUSTY DUSTY or rain
Q:on a 96 nissan maxima. when u turn them on it the motor makes a sounds and everything at intervals but the wipers dont move, you can move them by hand. what could this be????
2 possible problems. One could be the wipers are not on the track. The wipers move along a track located under the windshield. If the motor is running and the track is moving but not the wipers, it could have fell off the track. It’s a matter of placing the wipers back onto the track, which can be a tedious job. Second problem could be the wiper motor. If you move the wiper and both move along the track and the wipers work sometime then your motor may have gone bad. A electrical specialist or shop will be able to test the motor and tell you if its bad.
Q:While in a rush to get out, I put the fluid in the wrong place. The car has not overheated but I have smelled the fluid evaporating. There is no difference in engine temperature or running condition. Its a 2002 civic LX with the non vtec motor. Can I leave it in to evaporate or should I change the fluid?
unless your car has a coolant leak it will not evaporate as cooling systems are considered sealed, unless they have leaks. you need to flush your coolant, probably a few times. the cheapest way to do this is to drain and fill with DISTILLED water 2 or 3 times. and afterward, refill with the proper coolant. washer fluid is not compatible with coolant and will cause rusting of the radiator and engine block.
Q:Along with that, the wiper fluid isn‘t working either (and I did check to be sure that there was some in there). What could have happened and how to fix it? Thanks!
wow. Something similar happened to Me once on a Tiyota Corsica. Then I learned each car wiper system is quite unique. On My case, it was the arms pulley that wear off and jumped apart. I spent $100 just for replacement. You should add a comment on what type of car/suv You're driving! Good luck! Bear hugs! ;-)
Q:I drive a ‘95 Nissan Altima and the drivers‘ side windshield wiper is broken. The passengers side works fine, so I guess it can‘t be the motor thing. We took off the little plastic cap at the bottom of the wiper and checked the bolt: it was tight and snug. Can I fix it myself? Please tell me I can, I don‘t want to pay the mechanic two hundred bucks for adjusting a lugnut. Help!
Try getting a new wiper, or go to a dealer if you're not too sure XD
Q:Can someone tell me how to hook up windshield wiper motor to a 63 impala? I recently bought this ride and would like to have WW working. The actual wipers work but there is no wiper fluid tank so I need to get one and hook it up. Also am getting the optikleen bottle and would like to know what this does and how it is hooked up. Thanks much.
On the wiper motor there is a pump,it has two hose hookups the same size as a vaccuum line 1/4,one is in one is out to the spray nozzles in the grating in front of the wipers, hook hose from tank to one and hose from pump to the sray nozzles, try it,if it does not spray switch hose hookups at the pump and try again.
