FAQ

I have repainted and recarpeted the entire house, and a new high-end furnace/central air comboThese are the remaining problems:1 - hideously 70s non-working 2nd bathroom2 - unattractive and unsafe 70s kitchen (complete with holes in the wall)3 - weed and dead-shrub infested yard4 - 70s aluminum siding (the wide stuff) that is misaligned and pink5 - cracked foundation6 - unsafe balcony on roof with no railingI've read some things that say that it's best not to remodel before selling because you won't get your money backbut I find it hard to believe that this would be true in all casesFor example, most of the things on this list would make me say, 'no way!' if I walked into my house, even if I had every intention of remodelingIf the house looks unsafe, or sloppy, then it makes you wonder what other problems are lurking that may not be as visibleThat's only for the potential buyers who could get past the low 'curb appeal' of my houseThanks for any input!
Put a house like that on the market and be prepared to lower the price dramaticallyNo one wants to buy a house with a cracked basement an unsafe kitchen with holes in the wall and a nonworking bathroomPeople can look past dated bathrooms or kitchens if the house is sound although they would lower their price. In that case remodeling might be more than the lowered priceAn unsound house and you'd have to practically give it away You are right buyers that see the problems you have will think what else is wrongYou can't hide them eitherDoing so might void the deal and a house inspection is sure to turn them upMy advice is to make the bathroom a working bathroom and pretty it up with towels and a nice shower curtainFix the kitchen so it's safe and patch the wallDefinitely fix the cracked foundationLock the balcony doors when you are showing the house so buyers get the idea that you know it's unsafe because it needs a railing or put up a railing If the roof surface is rough you can buy snap together wooden slatted squares for the floor at a reasonable priceClear out the dead stuff in the yard and leave itYou can paint aluminum siding if you are so inclined but it is not necessary if the inside is up to codeLastly never under estimate the power of paintAll the rooms should have soft neutral colors.
I am baking a cake in an aluminium disposable cake panI don't want the cake to burn and would like to know if I need to grease the pan first? Is it okay to use butter non-stick spray? then flour? Could I use baking parchment paper?
Hi , I bake for a living and would recommend that you use a heavy dose of Crisco or a good thick layer of a spray like PAM Use a paper towel and work the Crisco onto the bottom and sides of the pan, then flour it and cut a piece of waxed or parchment paper to fit into the bottomYou may need to use a slightly lower temperature for your cake for a disposable panKeep a close watch on it as it is bakingIf you want to see the method go to one of the links below.
Hi, on two occasions now, I have hung out around my friends when they were smoking weed out of aluminum foil bowlsOne time was in a car with all of the windows rolled up to keep the smoke in, the other was in a screened in back porch. Now, on both occasions, I was smoking out of an apple with one of them, while my other two friends smoked out of this homemade bong that consisted of a plastic inhaler with the medicine canister removed, and aluminum foil over the top of the inhaler with holes poked in it to serve as a bowl.Right now, I'm reading that smoking out of aluminum foil is really bad for youIs it likely that I inhaled the aluminum vapors form my friend's bong despite the fact that I wasn't directly smoking out of it?
You need to be the one using the aluminum peice to inhale the bad stuff.
My dog ate a chip bag and i only found pieces so i don't know if she can digest it or not i am really worried .
My dog got into the trash and ate aluminum foilWhen I called the vet, they explained that she could pass the aluminum through her system and it will show up in her feces; however, the aluminum could block her up which is then a problemI would watch your dog very closely and look at her throw up and fecesIf she is pooping, then there is no blockage and she is getting it through okayAll the vet could do is take x-rays to see if there is a blockage or notMy dog threw most of it up, but there was some aluminum showing in her feces alsoJust keep a close eye on herIf she starts acting weird I would see your local vet.

1999 f-150 won't shift into gearThe lever moves on the dash but it feels loose when I try to put it into gearIt's a 4.6l and automatic it will not shift out of neutralAnybody have any ideas?
The shift lever is mounted into an aluminum tube that is held to the top of the steering column with 2 straps, remove the plastic covers on the column and make sure this tube didn't crack in the middle, also the lower end of this tube has a small steel arm attached to it with 2 small torx screws, these screws tend to work loose and fall out causing your concernIf both these are ok check the cable that attaches to the shifter tube and transmission to verify it hasn't came loose or broke.

Please only give me specific stores if you are in Australia as there are no wal marts over here :) Otherwise general advice is good!
