- As long the scientists has to assume that there is an absolute vacuum through which light can propagate then they have no choice but to define light as having also the properties of a particle (called photon). I think it is hard here to show that such an absolute vacuum cannot exist unless we consider that the smallest matters are of the atomic universe. To please your curiosity, in brief, why not the atomic particles are in turn made by a sub-atomic universe too?! People in the near past couldn't imagine for example that our big planet would become just a small ball if all electrons stop their motions. The same, the world will need more time to get the idea that also the atomic particles like an electron has much the same structure as our dear planet (made by a much smaller sub-atomic universe). But I am afraid that the whole story is much more complicated than this very simplified explanation. But meanwhile and till this happens in the unseen future, let us please our teachers minds by telling them that light could propagate as an energy wave or photons as well. :)

- UVB does not emit heat. Basking lights do. Both should be UVB check the package. Do you have a desert tortoise? I used both and I've see my tortoise use the UVB to bask. It's cute they spread their legs behind them. I personally don't think you need both, my baby one uses the UVB tube (because he has a heating pad) and the older one uses the basking one (he doesn't have a heating pad). Use your judgment are they getting enough UVB from any source and are they warm enough. They need that to digest food. They love going outside the best though.
- Q: I recently purchased a 3 soft box portable lighting kit using fluorescent tube cool lights. I have been this far unimpressed with the light output, and I was wondering if simply adding a hot-shoe flash to my camera would help out, or if I should invest in a hot spotlight or a ring flash. Shooting with a NikonD40x and I'm not sure about the flash sync capabilities if I go for the flash ring.
- Don't keep throwing good money after bad. Almost daily there are people on here warning others to stay away from cheap studio light set ups. If you start doing the things you mentioned, you are going to have nothiing but a horrid mismatch of color temps and white balance problems as weil as control problems. I suggest you sell everything you have on Ebay or where ever and do things right like you should have the first time. A good start would be the Alien Bees website. They have great studio strobe lights and kits, and the prices are not outreageous, though NOT cheap either. You get what you pay for. steve

- Hello, The light is actually an ultraviolet light or Black Light, Spencers in the mall has them, or any Party City, if you have them where you are. Basically any party supply store. And remember ask for Black Lights.
- Q: at the store they have a light like a sun a heat light and a moon light i wanna get them all but like would i use the heat light as a basking light or a regular light or i shouldnt get a heat light and use the sun light as a basking light, also i can use the moon light for at night right, one more thing when u go to bed do you turn off the basking light???
- Turtles need UVA/UVB to maintain healthy shell growth and also to digest vitamin D. Zoo Med makes great UV light products for reptiles and I would recommend Zoo Med 'Repti Basking Lamp' over his basking area to stay on about 10hr/day and also their 'Repti-Sun 10.0 high output UVB bulb' above your tank during the day. You can turn all the lights off at night. I don't use heat lamp or moon light for my turtle.

- Battery light and Brake light are usually independent sensors/fault indicators. Battery may need replacement, or possibly be dead due to fault in the charging system (alternator). Most auto parts store can check both for free with proper testing equipment. Since electric power is dead or very low, the PCM could be throwing other false errors. Get the battery issue resolved first and other errors might go away. If not then continue with diagnosis. Brake light, could be a burnt out brake light bulb, dirty ABS sensors, or pads/shoes worn out and needs replacement, or low brake fluid level.

- Its not going to take a light year to get to these places so you have to cut the light year up into minutes and seconds, smaller values, its the same though just smaller pieces of the same pie.
