- Q: i'm looking into buying a stainless steel ring for somebody as a gift.i'm on a budget (heh) and the ring is about $50.will it rust or tarnish? it'd be embarrassing if i gave it to someone, and it begins rusting :Pthanks
- Stainless steel is a generic term for a huge variety of different alloys. In manufacturing, each steel has different numbers, etc that they go by. Some steel sold as being stainless actually is not. It rusts, like the cheap kitchen knives you see that are left in the sink too long. However, the stainless in jewelry is pretty legit. Overpriced, but legit. It will not tarnish, but it won't stay shiny forever. It might get a little less glossy over time. When it does get re-polished, it takes a long time to do it. But it will not turn black or rust. Good luck.
- Q: like building steel beams. i'm pretty sure with a sawzall.
- Yes, you can use a Sawzall. A ban saw or a cutting torch work too. But a cutting torch woudl leave a pretty rough edge.
- Q: What is the maximum width of steel coils?
- The maximum width of steel coils can vary depending on various factors such as the type of steel, manufacturing capabilities, and intended use. However, in general, steel coils typically have a maximum width of around 2,200 millimeters or 86.6 inches. This width is commonly used in the steel industry for standard-sized coils. It is important to note that specialized steel coils or custom manufacturing processes may allow for wider widths, but these would be less common and may require specific equipment or processes.
- Q: You have two steel wool pads, one is cut up into little pieces, and the other is whole, and they are both submerged in water. 1.Which steel wool pad will rust quicker?2.How much faster will that pad rust? (estimate+explain the estimate)6.How could you make the steel wool pad rust faster? Please dont tell me to do my homework because I tried, but I bought the wrong type of steel wool
- How to make it rust faster ? Adding oxygen to the water - bubbling air through it. Raising the temperature should make the reaction go faster, but I believe it also reduces the amount of dissolved gas. Adding salt, or an ionic compound like an acid, will accelerate electrochemical corrosion. That usually requires a less active metal, like copper, in contact with the steel, but variations in the composition of the steel may be sufficient to promote corrosion.
- Q: Fallout 3 take it back quest?if i am in the rotunda and dont have broken steel installed yet so i cant leave if i instal it will i be able to continue the game even if im seconds away from the end without it Additional Detailsi know it continues on but im not sure if it will let me cause i got this far without it 1 objective away from finishing the quest idk if it will change that little bit so i can continue (ps3)already in the purifier place kill col. autum liek i said just gotta do the code thing to it idk if im to far for broken steel to effect this save file
- Yes. The Broken Steel add-on goes automatically where ever you are. The thing is, I would like stand around the control room for a little while until the Broken Steel add-on is completely downloaded (Basically pop A LOT of rad-x and radaway). You should see a pop-up message saying that Broken Steel is installed and the level cap is now at 30.
- Q: I got a muzzy carp point arrow and its head is steel with 1.7% carbon, its used in the water. Will i have to dry it after every use or is it stainless. Thanks
- Stainless steel is not rust proof. it's just rust resistant. It will rust. It just takes much longer to do so... So, yes, I'd dry it well after use, and even consider wiping it with a cloth containing a very lite coating of oil.
- Q: Can steel coils be customized in terms of size and thickness?
- Yes, steel coils can be customized in terms of size and thickness. Manufacturers have the capability to produce steel coils in various sizes and thicknesses to meet the specific requirements of different industries and applications.
- Q: i currently have just steel guitar strings, not a fan they need replacing and i was wondering whats the difference between steel and bronze strings and or nickle strings?
- That depends a lot on what type of music you want to play. Most of the acoustic guitar music you hear on the radio is steel string. That's the bright, sustaining tone most musicians associate with acoustic guitar. Nylon strings give a more muted, mellower tone. Typically this is used for classical playing, although it has been used in popular music very successfully. (Think of Clapton's Tears In Heaven -- the second, lead guitar is a nylon string.) Many people will tell you that a nylon string guitar will be easier to learn on. This is true, but if you go with a classical guitar, with the wider neck and shorter fretboard, you might find some troubles transitioning to the standard longer narrower acoustic fretboard.
- Q: When I took guitar lessons, I found that the Nylon strings are easier for me, but I love the sound of steel strings. Now, I have my own acoustic guitar, and 2 strings broke off, so I'm getting strings today. I'm not sure if Nylon strings would 'fit' on my guitar, and it's to soft of a noise. But the steel are much better sounding, but it's a little bit harder to push the string down on the fret. Which do you prefer, why?(:
- If your acoustic guitar is a steel-string (acoustic only means it's not electric) you can only put steel strings on it. Nylon strings would probably require modification of the nut and would sound terrible even then. A steel-string guitar is built and braced to work with steel strings and will not respond properly to the lighter tension of nylon strings. On the other hand, steel strings will destroy a guitar that is built for nylon in very short order. There are two things you can do here. If you have a steel-string guitar and are still using the strings that came on it, they are probably light gauge. You could try an extra-light set or even silk steel. Alternatively, you could have your guitar looked at by a guitar tech or other knowledgeable person and see if it needs a setup. The action (string height off the fretboard) on a properly adjusted steel-string guitar should actually be lower than on a classical guitar. Cheap guitars off the internet or from non-music stores are especially notorious for being poorly adjusted.
- Q: What are the different types of steel coil grades?
- There are several different types of steel coil grades used in various industries and applications. Some of the most common steel coil grades include: 1. Carbon Steel: This is a basic type of steel that contains mostly iron and carbon. It is widely used in construction, automotive, and manufacturing industries due to its high strength and durability. 2. Stainless Steel: This type of steel contains chromium, which provides corrosion resistance and makes it suitable for applications that require resistance to oxidation and staining. It is commonly used in the food processing, chemical, and medical industries. 3. High-Strength Low-Alloy (HSLA) Steel: HSLA steel contains small amounts of alloying elements such as copper, phosphorus, niobium, and vanadium. This type of steel offers higher strength and better mechanical properties compared to carbon steel, making it suitable for structural applications. 4. Galvanized Steel: Galvanized steel is coated with a layer of zinc to protect it from corrosion. It is commonly used in outdoor applications, such as roofing, fencing, and automotive parts. 5. Electrical Steel: Also known as silicon steel, electrical steel has high magnetic permeability, low electrical conductivity, and low core loss. It is used in the production of transformers, motors, and other electrical equipment. 6. Tool Steel: Tool steel is a high-carbon steel that is specifically designed for making tools and dies. It has excellent hardness, wear resistance, and toughness, making it suitable for cutting, forming, and shaping materials. These are just a few examples of the different types of steel coil grades available. Each grade has its own unique properties and characteristics, making it suitable for specific applications in various industries.
