Q: I got the lighter from a gas station, it's a zippo like(notice i said like not actuly a zippo) lighter with a string(WTF wheres the fluid thing supposed to be at) it sparks but won't light please help me I am soo confused!!!!!: You will need a can of lighter fluid and open the lighter and pull on inside part to remove it... once removed you will see a fiber material in the bottom.. to this material you add the lighter fluid and the put the lighter back together and wipe the excess off unless you want to light your hand... put the lighter in your pocket... now being that it is not an actual Zippo it is going to leak lighter fluid in your pocket and put a nice red burn spot on your leg from the leaking fluid... etc ...

Q: is it a lights with purple colour 1??: uv stands for ultraviolet, standard lights that you see in businesses , schools and what not. for the purple color you might be thinking of black lights.

Q: do bats like bright lights?: Generally speaking nothing likes bright lights. Bats have no real problem with light, they see perfectly fine, they are just normally nocturnal, which has nothing to do with light sensitivity.

Q: Why is it that light can't travel through everything. On my psp there is an orange charging light that when you look at it from a different angle you can see these spikey things coming from it. When i put my hand near it the light shines through. So cant light shine throught everything?: light can be weird although predicting its behavior is pretty easy. think about light reflection off of a lake. you know it can pass through the water but when it strikes the water at a shallow angle, it reflects off. that is how fiber optics work. the laser hits the sides of the fiber at such shallow angles it is reflected back into the fiber. what you are seeing from the side is that side it cant pass through. the spiky things? those must be one of two things. either it is the insides of the LED that you are seeing or the light is a frequency that your eyes cant focus on. if it is the frequency, you will see FUZZY looking light with spikes sticking out of it.

Lasers use a laser diode and a special crystal to achieve this.... incoherent light is scattered such as a light globe since there is no physical medium to concentrate the light...

Q: If i shine white light onto a yellow surface with black text; will the text be clearer than if i shone a yellow light onto it?: They should be the same. This is because a yellow surface ONLY appears yellow because it absorbs all other frequencies of light but NOT yellow frequencies. because true white light is made up of all frequencies of visible light. (note: your light sources at home are generally not completely white they are missing some frequencies) So if you shine a white light on it the only light you will see is still yellow, all others are absorbed. If you shine a yellow light on it nothing is absorbed but the exact same wavelength of light is reflected off as when you used a white light. HOWEVER, in practice you would have to match the yellow light source exactly to the wavelengths of light that the yellow surface would reflect. It's easier to use white light because it already includes all of the frequencies of light that the surface would reflect.
