1.Structure of Gate Valve Description:
A gate valve, also known as a sluice valve, is a valve that opens by lifting a round or rectangular gate/wedge out of the path of the fluid. The distinct feature of a gate valve is the sealing surfaces between the gate and seats are planar, so gate valves are often used when a straight-line flow of fluid and minimum restriction is desired. The gate faces can form a wedge shape or they can be parallel. Gate valves are primarily used to permit or prevent the flow of liquids, but typical gate valves shouldn't be used for regulating flow, unless they are specifically designed for that purpose. Because of their ability to cut through liquids, gate valves are often used in the petroleum industry. For extremely thick fluids, a specialty valve often known as a knife valve is used to cut through the liquid.
2. Main Features of the Gate Valve:
The sealing surface of valve seat and gate is overlaid (surfaced) with hard alloy, resistant to corrosion and abrasion.Valve seat, gate and stem are sealed with imported lip-shaped combined seal structure, so they are safe and reliable, and the switching torque of valves is low.
Simple and safe design of valve gate and seat, makes it easy to change without special tools.
Non-rubber seal effectively protects valve chamber from mud, sand and rock, etc.
Stem sealing can be changed under pressure.
Stem is designed to be rising stem and non-rising stem, with a clear sign for valve opening.
Drive mode falls into manual, hydraulic and gear.

1. What's are the characteristics of gate valve?
The distinct feature of a gate valve is the sealing surfaces between the gate and seats are planar, so gate valves are often used when a straight-line flow of fluid and minimum restriction is desired. The gate faces can form a wedge shape or they can be parallel.
2. What is the work principle of gate valve ?
The gate faces can form a wedge shape or they can be parallel. Gate valves are primarily used to permit or prevent the flow of liquids, but typical gate valves shouldn't be used for regulating flow, unless they are specifically designed for that purpose. Because of their ability to cut through liquids, gate valves are often used in the petroleum industry.
3. What is the structure?
Bonnets provide leakproof closure for the valve body. Gate valves may have a screw-in, union, or bolted bonnet. Screw-in bonnet is the simplest, offering a durable, pressure-tight seal. Union bonnet is suitable for applications requiring frequent inspection and cleaning. It also gives the body added strength. Bolted bonnet is used for larger valves and higher pressure applications.
- Q: My water faucet has a male thread at its outlet. I am trying to determine the thread size and type so I can order some fittings. I measured the outer diameter with a caliper and it was about 0.79 (20mm). I tried a 1/2 NPT female fitting and it barely didn't fit.I need to know if it is metric, BSP (British standard pipe), NPT (National Pipe Thread), or garden hose. Thanks!

- Q: My kitchen faucet got broken, so i am trying to replace it with a new faucet. But here is my problem. I CANNOT uninstall the old faucet!!!! The main screw that holds the old faucet got rusty and the space around the screw is so little, I cannot uninstall it. It is so tight and it doesn't come out....I feel like if I continue trying, it may totally ruin the screw and it may never come out...Is there any advice for that? Pls help me!!!!
- spray some DW-40 and then try .There's no other way without making damage in sink for Replacement .
- Q: I purchased a new faucet with sprayer. Currently I have a faucet but no sprayer.next to where the sprayer should go, there is a overflow for my dishwasher. Do I need to drill another hole or do I need to do something with the overflow ?
- The overflow is there so that if your kitchen sink clogs then it does not fill up your dishwasher with nasty sewer water. If you take the overflow (called an Air Gap) out then you would have dirty nasty water going into your dishwasher with your dishes. You can drill a hole in the sink but I warn you that this is difficult to do. I would recommend purchasing a pull out sprayer faucet. It's more costly but will save you the trouble of drilling a hole. They also make faucets that have the sprayer hole built in to the body of the faucet but this looks a little weird. If you get the pull out sprayer then you will like it and it looks nice too. So, just shell out a little more money and get a good faucet that looks good too!
