Q: Their was this recipe that was in home and garden a long time ago...it was pretty much chicken lemon juice parsley spinach and orzo..except that my family and i don't remember the measurements so it never comes out right anymore. Does anyone remember this recipe? If so could u please share? Thank you :)
i okorder . INGREDIENTS 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 cloves garlic 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper 2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into bite-size pieces salt to taste 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 2 cups fresh spinach leaves grated Parmesan cheese for topping DIRECTIONS Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add orzo pasta, cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until al dente, and drain. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, and cook the garlic and red pepper 1 minute, until garlic is golden brown. Stir in chicken, season with salt, and cook 2 to 5 minutes, until lightly browned and juices run clear. Reduce heat to medium, and mix in the parsley and cooked orzo. Place spinach in the skillet. Continue cooking 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until spinach is wilted. Serve topped with Parmesan cheese. 4 servings
Q: Do cucumbers planted in home garden need to be watered once a day or twince a day ? If there are two or more new small cucumbers on one branch, will they all become fruits that can be reaped ?
once a day either early morning or later at night so the sun doesnt fry them. Yes the will grow with more than one on a vine. i put mine against my fench they will climb too for future reference and that makes them more stable and larger. but dont water when its sunny it will damage the plants.
Q: Like Better Homes and Gardens
My personal favorites are Architectural Digest and Cottage Living. I guess it really depends on what you like design wise. If you are into architecture with upscale design ideas try Architectural Digest, if you prefer a warm cozy, cottage feel, go with Cottage Living, it's not crafty cottage decor either which I can't stand. I also like Domino, it's young and fresh with a mix of modern and antique. Also if you like Do it Yourself ideas try BHG's Do It Yourself Magazine.
Q: I am growing hybrid corn and i went to go pick it and it was FILLED with worms!!!I checked all the corn (which is like 20 plants) and every single piece has ATLEAST 6 worms!is there anything i can put on the corn or soil or something to keep worms away? i have planted much more like tomatoes, raddishs, watermelon, butternut and crookneck sqaush and everything else is 100% perfect. we have a bunch of crab grass could that do anything with it?i'd also like to eat the corn so it must be safe.about 1h. west from Selma, Alabama (crumptonia)
You've got corn ear worm.........ick!! Mineral oil on each ear, getting inside the husks may help. Now that they have found the corn, they probably aren't interested in the natural Bt....bacillus thuringensis. Hand picking and dusting with Sevin may be all you can do now. (see below) Home Garden In the home garden there are quite a few varieties that show resistance to corn earworm damage, i.e., Country Gentleman, Stay Gold, Victory Golden, Silver Cross Bantam, and Silvergent. Check label for varietal limitation and precautions. Carbaryl (Sevin) is recommended for use in the home garden. Apply carbaryl 50% wettable powder 4 tablespoonfuls or carbaryl 80% wettable powder 2 1/2 tablespoons per gallon of water. Thoroughly wet the silks of all ears until harvest is completed. Dusts containing Sevin may also be used. They can be applied to the silks of each ear with a paint brush or hand duster.(www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/ent/notes/... www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/r11330091...
Q: Do the plants get enough sunlight or are there just certain plants in a walled garden?
A lot of it stems from the Enclosure Act..prevented domestic animals straying off common land. Most cottagers, farm workers, needed to grow their own crops as wages were poor. Planting is simple...bright sun loving flowers and fruit on the south and west facing..and suitable shade loving plants facing north..clematis is also grown on north facing as the roots like shade and the flowers grow up into the sun. To brighten up a north facing border we grow Busy Lizzie's that prefer shade yet give a bright display. In the UK we get on OK with our neighbours, chat, help out now and then, but don't like them overlooking our gardens...or getting in our face.In a lot of gardens livestock pens, chickens etc are kept on the north facing side..As recently as 1980 I dealt with a case where cattle entered a garden and wrecked it...the farmer won as her garden fences were ill maintained.
Q: HELP ME !no dumb answers, please and thanks.: )
Bangalore was nicknamed the Garden City when it was young, Bangalore when it was older and Benguluru when it got still older ! Bangalore gets two monsoons a year because of its position between Tamilnadu and Kerala. Also, its at a height and so much cooler. Trees and gardens grew well in Bangalore and the rulers then took great care to make a truly garden city. There is still the Cubbon Park and Lalbaug, which fortunately have been left green as yet. But the rest of the city, has changed from the small villas and quiet roads to multi-storey concrete buildings/townships and polluted, noisy roads. The face of Namma Benguluru has sadly changed. Its no more a pensioner's paradise because its so unsafe for old people to walk on the road, dodging traffic and fighting crowds.
Q: In the book it describes different ways you can use stuff that you would throw away, ex. such as lint from a dryer, you would save it and put it in a orange bag so the birds can go to it and make their nests. Another example from the book, it tells you that you can take a kiddie pool and make your own little pond by digging a hole and placing the pool in the hole, then you simply get water plantlife and create an exotic mini-pond. Another tip it gives is by planting tomatoes in 5-gallon buckets and hanging them upside down for clean big and red tomatoes. Also there is one where it says you can plant potatoes in a 5-gallon bucket and when they are ready for picking you can just dump out the bucket for easier harvesting. If anyone has any idea of the name of the book please respond. The title has something to do with saving you loads of money throughout the year.
This okorder . You can search for the book by catagory. I would start with home and garden. You might also want to try search phrases like money saving tips, home recycling tips, and others. I'll bet it won't take you long to find it. Good luck with your search.
