Q:What is chelated iron and how does it differ from the regular iron pills at the supermarket? Is it safe for anyone to take? I noticed the chelated iron is only sold at the health food store. Is chelated iron safe for someone with a very sensitive digestive system to take?
Chelated' just means that it was chemically bonded to a compound (generally an amino acid) to make the mineral more easily absorbed throughout the body.
Q:I‘m trying to start reading the original Iron Man Comics. I know the first Iron Man is Tales of Suspense #39. Does anyone know what Iron Man #2, #3 etc. is?
Void, you are evil. 'The Rapture' is the worst piece of garbage ever published with the 'Iron Man' name on front. The best way to start readin Iron Man comics. I think it's best to wait until no.1 comes out this fall. That's written by Kieron Gillen. It's not an origin issue. But whatever you do, DON'T buy current issues. Those are by Matt Fraction, and Matt Fraction is a devil in the shape of a man, and has done everything in his power these last four years to destroy Iron Man. Origin issue. what would be the best origin issue? The thing is, there is The Essential Iron Man which is really good value, but those stories are all from 1963, '64 and '65. They are kind of dated. An excellent run on Iron Man was Volume 3, the first 25 issues. Those are by Kurt Busiek. An excellent trade paperback to read is 'Iron Man: Hypervelocity', but unfortunately it won't make you any wiser on the subject of Iron Man.
Q:They gave us a acetate gown for graduation and they told us to use a cool iron. but i just cant get rid of the wrinkles.does anyone know what else i can do with damaging it?
Put the iron on medium heat. Use a damp hand towel and place the towel over the acetate and press and iron any wrinkles. Then use another dry hand towl to finish the job. Don't iron directly over the seams or they will show through. Iron on either side of the seam and don't iron the top of the hem if there is one. Each sewn seam will show through.
Q:been taking iron supplements individual for a couple years now and read some where that multivitamins that contain iron, zinc, potassium can stain teeth? never heard of such a thing. but mostly liquid iron?thanks
Yes iron can stain not only teeth, but also skin. This is usual when iron is introduced in liquid form. Orally (that's why it is needed to be taken in straw with your juice) to prevent staining and hasten up it's action. Injectables(z-track method is necessary to have a skin lock and prevent iron from pouring out and cause stain). But when you take iron in capsules, you don't neet to worry at all because it's encapsulated.
Q:Rowenta doesn‘t any longer seem to be reliable. Believe it or not I am halfway thinking of a mid-level to top notch Panasonic iron. Panasonic seems to be building them right. The other names if you look at the reviews and the customer service, its nothing to write home to mom about. I would be interested if you can recommend a brand either you or someone close to you have had and the iron doesn‘t leak, short out and doesn‘t become the cool iron after a few months. Thanks.
I'm not sure there are so much better and worse irons. I used to think rowenta's were great, but they are very expensive, rather chunky and heavy and to me, don't seem to out perform other irons. For me, the best iron is the least expensive iron that meets my needs. I tend to space out that the iron is on, so I want an iron that turns itself off. I want one that has a range of settings including steam, and it's helpful, but not necessary, that it spritz water. I mostly only use irons for sewing and have owned a number, usually more than one at a time and currently own three. The things that happen to my irons is they get dropped, they get used by other folks on inappropriate things or using bad settings and spoiling them or they get so minerally or the finish wears off the face that I don't want to use them any more. It's mostly death by dropping, repeatedly though. I've never ever had a problem with them shorting, leaking or not getting hot. Iron technolody is just not that complicated, and with using distilled water (a must for with my minerally water) my irons can last for decades, despite almost abusive use when I am sewing a lot. Reviews on irons? Please. They get hot. You press things. It's not rocket science. I even have an antique cast iron iron that sits on my woodstove that I could use in a pinch, if I had to. I suggest whatever they have at Costo or Sears. Both of those stores have good return policies, so if you seem to get a lemon, you can return it. I have purchased irons at garage sales for a buck that became my favorites.
Q:What‘s iron from?
there is iron in a lot of foods. iron is great for people who are anemic, it helps boost red blood cell count and gives you the energy back that you might be lacking. you can get iron in a lot of meats: Clams Pork Liver Oysters Chicken Liver Mussels Beef Liver Beef Shrimp Sardines Turkey as well as beans and lentils, skins on potatoes, asparagus, etc If you're pregnant, make sure you're not taking a supplement with too much vitamin A, it can be bad for the baby. be careful though, some people get constipated when taking too much iron as well as iron poisoning.
Q:I am a runner and i do alot of it and i was wondering why it is inportant to have enough iron and what are the benefits from having the right amount of iron? Also i take a vitamin that has iron but it has more calcium in it and i know calcium absorbs iron so will taking this vitamin decrease the amount of iron that i intake? also is it better that i take a seperate iron suppliment to make sure i get enough so it will help?
Iron is needed for your body to transport Oxygen. The Oxygen gets bound with red bloodcells and transported this way. (Oxygen is transported through plasma for only a small percentage). So the more Iron you have, the more red bloodcells can carry Oxygen, the more oxygen can be transported the easier exercising will be. BUT, there's always a but. When you're taking in too much iron (only caused by taking supplements when not needed) you may get poisoned. In some (extreme) cases this can cause death. My advice: let your MD take a blood sample and analyse it. See what your iron-count is. When it's too low, take some supplements for 2 months.
Q:What is the Best Professional Flat Iron you have used and why?
GHDs are amazing but they are too expensive for me, I've got through a couple of pairs and ended up getting a cheap pair for just ?30 and it does JUST as good a job and they are Babyliss ones. As long as they are ceramic and go up to 230 degrees for me it works, and my hair is really thick and long. Don't be persuaded to buy professional flat irons because you end up paying a lot of money just for the name, and you find they are just the same as the cheaper ones.
Q:Can you iron an iron-on patch onto Corduroy? I have a basic, solid maroon corduroy cloth purse, and wanted to add on a little patch for decoration. Should it work, and should i use a towl or straight iron it on?thanks.
If you are ironing a patch onto corduroy to repair it, I would turn the corduroy inside out and iron it on the smooth side. That will help repair the hole. If you are bent on ironing on a patch to the outside of corduroy, you are going to have a hard time, because the furry part of the corduroy is just going to come off, and the patch will peel off sooner or later, and it will never look exactly right. You could iron on a patch and then go around it with blanket stitch, if you want the look of a patch on top of the corduroy.
Q:i understand that the Ci6 irons were made for control and the Di6 irons were made for distance. but whats different about the club itself that makes it better for distance or control?also, is the a big difference Ci6/Di6 and Ci7/Di7
Not true at all, Padraig Harrington just won two majors using wilson irons. I personally prefer ping, but wilson is still a popular brand. The Ci6 and the Ci7 are players irons, they have a thinner top line and are less forgiving than the Di6 and di 7. If you handicap is below 10, get the ci6 or ci7s, if not then get the full cavity irons. Ok to answer the second part, the thinner topline on the ci series provides more control for experienced players, such as mr. harrington, who dont need the forgiveness of the di irons. These irons, are harder to hit, have a lower ball flight, and have a smaller sole, resulting in the lower amount of forgiveness, but a lot of control. The di7, are distance, they have a fuller cavity and a large sole, so the iron is forgiving and it hits further than the ci irons. to answer your final question, no theres isnt really a difference between the 6 series and the 7 series. harrington uses the 5 series, so i would get whatever appeals to your eye and fits your budget.
