- Q: and charcoal, but never on hot iron?
- iron is a good conductor of heat and electrcity and charcoal is bad conductor. People can walk on hot coal when it's temprature is between 200c-400c so the transfer of heat to human body is slow
- Q: Difference between Bronze and Iron.?
- Tools are not made of the pure element iron, because it is simply too soft to be useful. As I understand it the Hittites developed a techniques for working iron that incorporated carbon and over came these difficulties, and so introduced the iron age. We think of carbon +iron as steel, in fact cast iron is an alloy of silicon and carbon with iron. Both remarks are imprecise, which is not surprising since metallurgy is complicated and for most of history was an art not a science. Certainly there are many uses for which bronze are more suitable than iron. or even steel including many household objects.
- Q: Hello,I have a 3 month old baby boy and over the past month I have switched him to low-iron formula but I am scared that I made the wrong choice. He was quite constipated which is why I made the switch, but I read how they NEED Iron and I feel like maybe I should put him back on the iron-fortified stuff? What have your experiences been? Should I switch him back? Thanks so much :)
- Have you tried switching to a soy based formula? When mine were on milk base they were both miserable. I noticed a big change in the bm's after I went to the soy. I probably wouldn't switch back if he is doing well on what you changed him to. Good Luck!
- Q: Help with curling iron?!!!?
- Try using thinner pieces of hair and let the iron heat up for a while before you use them. good luck :)
- Q: Im an anemic with prenisious anema (anemia) and have trouble keeping my iron levels up my doctor has subscribed irion suppliments that sometimes act if though they don‘t work fast enough can i get some help on high iron foods to eat,.
- hi Absorption of iron from food is influenced by multiple factors. One important factor being the form of the iron. Heme Iron, found in animal sources, is highly available for absorption. Non-heme iron on the other hand, found in vegetable sources, is less available. Iron Rich Foods containing Heme Iron Excellent Sources: Clams, Pork Liver, Oysters, Chicken Liver, Mussels, Beef Liver Good Sources of iron rich foods include: Beef, Shrimp, Sardines,Turkey Iron Rich Foods containing Non-Heme Iron: Excellent Sources: Enriched breakfast cereals, Cooked beans and lentils, Pumpkin seeds, Blackstrap Molasses Good Sources:Canned beans, Baked potato with skin, Enriched pasta, Canned asparagus The absorption of Non-heme iron can be improved when a source of heme iron is consumed in the same meal. In addition, the iron absorption-enhancing foods can also increase the absorption of non-heme iron. While some food items can enhance iron absorption, some can inhibit or interfere iron absorption. Avoid eating them with the iron-rich foods to maximize iron absorption. Iron Absorption Enhancers Meat/fish/poultry Fruits: Orange, Orange Juice, cantaloupe, strawberries, grapefruit etc Vegetables: Broccoli, brussels sprouts, tomato, tomato juice, potato, green red peppers and White wine etc. Iron Absorption Inhibitors : Red Wine, Coffee Tea Vegetables: Spinach, chard, beet greens, rhubarb and sweet potato,Whole grains and bran, Soy products hope this gives you some insight as to what foods you can eat
- Q: I need step by step recipes for people with low iron
- this is silly eat a carrot
- Q: To take care of wide spread iron deficiency , Govt of Gujarat has advised all flour mills to add iron powder to the flour.Whether iron in this form will be absorbed by the body? Is there any risk involved to take iron in such form ?
- Sounds a bit strange to me.
- Q: What martial arts teach Iron techniques (i.e. Iron Palm, Iron Shirt, Iron Body, Golden Bell Cover, etc.) and what are ALL of the Iron techniques?
- Actually, there are iron/golden techniques in Martial Arts. Metal is also another word. It's not just in mvoies. Most kung fu styles that I know about teach sand bag/iron palm. Basically metal is an elemental aspect that the CHinese used to relate to martial arts. Fire, wood, water, air. Metal is also an elemental style. It's supposed to be hard. Same with earth. Basically iron and golden are all hard metals. Iron body is the same way. Iron relates to a type of training and body manipulation. It's hard. So, anything HARD [[no innuendos]] is iron anything. Hard body, hard hand, hard head iron body training.
- Q: What is the difference between malleable iron and wrought iron? Can malleable iron be made into jewlery? Where can I buy malleable iron?
- Malleable iron is the oldest member of the family of nodular irons. Like all nodular irons, malleable iron exhibits good ductility. Incorrectly considered by some to be an old or dead material, malleable iron still has a legitimate place in the design engineer's toolbar. Malleable is the iron of choice for small castings or castings with thin cross sections (less than .25). Other nodular irons tend to be difficult to produce in these applications. Malleable iron is also preferred for castings seeing duty in low temperature environments since it retains its ductility better than other nodular irons at low temperatures. Used for small castings requiring good tensile strength and the ability to flex without breaking (ductility). Electrical fittings, hand tools, pipe fittings, washers, brackets, fence fittings, power line hardware, farm equipment, mining hardware, and machine parts. Wrought iron is commercially pure iron. In contrast to steel, it has a very low carbon content. It is a fibrous material due to the slag inclusions (a normal constituent). This is also what gives it a grain resembling wood, which is visible when it is etched or bent to the point of failure. Wrought iron is tough, malleable, ductile and easily welded. Examples of items that used to be produced from wrought iron include: rivets, chains, railway couplings, water and steam pipes, raw material for manufacturing of steel, nuts bolts, horse shoe bars, handrails, straps for timber roof trusses, boiler tubes, and ornamental ironwork.
- Q: Hi! I am doing a report on Iron and i have to do an experiment with something to do with iron. I really had know ideas, but my friend said I can use a magnet and ceral and do some sort of experiment. Does anyone have any cool experiments i could do that involve iron? Thanks for reading and any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
- Iron can do many things: its a great conductor of heat, electricity and magnetism. Its very stable at room temperature. Its very strong and weighs less than many other metals for its strength. - The most common chemical experiment with iron is to expose it to water. H20 + Fe Rust, respresents a basic chemical change - You can magnetize a bar of iron by exposing it to a strong magnetic field for a period of time. The iron molecules eventually align along the magnetic field lines, causing them to induce a field when the magnetic source is removed, representing a basic physical change in the state of the iron bar - You can wrap a copper coil around the iron bar, attaching either end to a battery which causes the iron bar to instantly turn into an 'electric magnet' - If you wrap a copper coil around a ring and attach either end of the coil to a voltmeter, you can insert a magnetized iron bar in and out of the ring repeated to generate a small electric current. - You can shave the iron bar into iron filings which, when exposed to a magnetic field under a sheet of while paper demonstrate the magnetic field lines associated with the magnet below the paper
