The fire department has had enough. But most notably, the students and my friend and suitemates have had enough. You think they could disable the fire alarm system in the hopes that a safe alternative in the case of a real fire (which could kill after all those false alarms, as what happened at Seton Hall U in January 2000). Any suggestions?

wear long sleeve shirts and long pants, and shoes, never shorts, short sleeves or sandals. wear safety glasses, gloves, and a lab coat. work on an acid resistant surface in a facility with a concrete floor. work in a fume hood whenever possible. prevent contact with all incompatible materials such as strong reducing agents, strong oxidizing agents, and potentially hazardous gas generating materials such as chlorides,hypochlorites, chlorates, perchlorates, cyanates, cyanides, etc. always know where fire extinguishers and emergency wash stations are located.

I play Quarterback but I always where a glove on my hand. I use it to help me hold on to the ball. My gloves are Under Armour Blitz Receiver's gloves and they are comfortable, have good grip, and aren't very expensive (only like $30 when I got mine). I have also played RB, WR, and DB so I know these gloves work good for receiving, too. If you don't get some similar to these make sure to get some that are comfortable and ones that have good sticky grip. I here cutters are good, too, but really expensive.

I work in a costume rental shop and we run across this all the time. For the pants, turn up the hem and safety pin in place. For the gloves, maybe wear a second pair underneath, maybe rubber gloves? Perhaps put bandaids over your fingers to provide some kind of grip to keep the gloves on?

its a matter of oxygen supply to the fire. if you run, you allow the fire to receive more oxygen where if you wrap up in a blanket, the blanket prevents the smoke from escaping, thus choking out the fire because smoke is mainly carbon dioxide.

Q: To my knowledge, there isn't a highly effective way to harness static electricit, but the more I thought about it, the more realistic this seemed. Is my thinking flawed? Electricity travels down the lighting rod similar to the way it would travel down a wire or any other conductor. Has this been tried before?
