Q:I would love to sign up for Boost Mobile's Daily Chat and Text plan, but this question just dawned on me. Do I have to have a new Boost Mobile phone to have their service?I don't care about the walkie-talkie or web surfing, just want to get phone calls and texts. Their prices are right, but don't want to buy a new phone. Thank you for anyone that reads this!
Boost mobile iden/walkie talkie runs on the Nextel iden nationwide network. Their sims can work on any Boost mobile walkie talkie or Nextel phone. Their sims will not work in any other type of phone like Att or Tmobile types. You are pretty much stuck with their lineup. Unless you use Boost cdma. There are TWO Boost mobiles. The Boost cdma is a Boost without walkie talkie or sim on the Sprint network. Sprint owns both Boost mobiles. The good thing about the cdma network is that it is generally faster and more reliable then Boost iden and you can use any Sprint phone after you first activate with a Boost cdma phone then transfer the account to the Sprint phone (You CAN'T open a Boost cdma account with a Sprint phone at the beginning.). Boost cdma recently dropped their prices so that they too have a nationwide $50 unlimited everything plan now. You can buy an older Boost cdma phone, a hot Sprint phone, call 1-877-TLK-MORE , ask for Unlimited by Boost (cdma) ,pay $15 to activate, either port your old number or get a number from the closest area to your area code (they only have phone numbers for thirteen states ). They might say they don't have your state or they need an out of state address. Just give them a Cali or Texas address that you find and port your local number. Boost cdma has better customer service, faster web , faster and more reliable texts and no where near as much dropped phone calls as Boost iden does. Whatever you choose, good luck.
Q:are mobile anti-virus reliant and really provide security for mobile phones??
First of all, you have to specify the exact model of your mobile phone. Unless it is running Symbian, Windows Mobile or PalmOS, you can't install an anti-virus program on it and you don't have to, either - there are neither viruses, nor anti-virus programs for the phones running proprietary operating systems. Even if it is running one of the three operating systems mentioned above, unless it is Symbian S60 R2, the threat is negligible - there are only a couple of malicious programs for the other operating systems (or even brands of Symbian) and the probability of your phone getting infected is virtually nil. Still, many anti-virus producers will gladly sell you an anti-virus program for Windows Mobile, PalmOS, Symbian UIQ or Symbian S60 R3 - despite that you don't really need one. Now, if your phone is running Symbian S60 R2, you really need an anti-virus program for it - there are hundreds of malicious programs (viruses and Trojan horses) for this environment. However, there is no free such program that is sufficiently good. So, you'll have to decide what is more important - price or quality. If the program being free is the most important criterion, try Calvin Stinger (first of the links below). If the program being good is more important to you, then try F-Secure's anti-virus program (the second link below). If neither of them works for you for some reason, ask again and I'll provide you a list of a couple of dozens anti-virus programs for mobile phones.
Q:How does the cell phone create a new folder on the desktop?
Click to enter the folder, the icon in the floating state can modify the folder name. To delete a folder: Fold all the icons from the folder and the folder disappears.
Q:Can thieves play a cell phone?
But to see what the environment. As for playing mobile phones, thunder when the phone will be hit by a lot of rumors, in fact, is wrong.
Q:I recently got a t-mobile samsung t509 phone. I unlocked it to use it for cingular. I am wondering if there is a way to change the t-zone and internet settings to cingular settings.
Nope. Sorry to tell you that T-Mobile has made their phones to have the T-zone dafault in there. You cannot change it. I have tried it with some of my Samsung Tmobile phones. Its imposible. The only way out of this is re-flash the phone with the samsung firmaware not Samsung -tmobile firmware.
Q:Hi,I can't find a decent, easy-to-read (and understand) website which will thoroughly explain most of the advantages and disadvantages of mobile phone masts. So I decided that maybe some of you clever people could help me! You can either:a) Give me a good link to a page about the advantages and dasadvantages of mobile phone masts;OR:-b) You could type them in your answer to me if you know a few good ones already. Thanks v. v. v. much in advance! :D
Hi, Mobile phone masts are really antennas for base-stations. In communications the cell phone talks to the base station, and vice versa. I am guessing you are asking for disadvantages from a non technical communications standpoint, like: what would happen if we didn't have them? If not, let me know, I'll give you a technical answer. We wouldn't be able to use cell phones if we didn't have towers. Cell phones use the base stations to connect to the public grid, and the public communication grid is all cables and wires. Since you need a way to get from wireless to wire you have masts.
Q:I found this online:If you leave your mobile phone charger plugged into the mains you will use the same amount of electricity whether or not your mobile is being charged. So when you've finished charging your phone unplug your charger! Is it true? Surely if the phone isn't connected, there is no circuit, so no power will be used.?
The charger has a transformer in it that uses some power any time it is plugged in. And you risk wearing out the transformer sooner due to power surges if you do not have it on a surge protector. It might consume less power but it is still consuming power by being plugged in.
Q:a friend from school is going to give me her phone (lg rumour) there is no phone number on it and she hasn't used it since the summer time. for me to activate it, do i just go to a virgin mobile store and say that i want to activate the phone?i also want to get unlimited texting on the phone aswell. (its a prepaid phone) how do i go through with this. plus, anything else that i should know?
If the phone is inactive right now, you can go into a Virgin Mobile store and ask to activate it. Except since it has no phone number, that might be kinda hard. For unlimited texting, I have a $25 plan that gives 300 minutes, and unlimited texting and web. While you're at the store, they can probably start you on that plan. Or you can go into your messaging settings under Balance Usage and change it from there.
Q:I want to get a phone from t-mobile that has an internet were i can do myspace and stuff like that, listen to music with headphones, and a way where i can watch movies on my phone?
DO NOT get the Dash. I sware you will hate it. I have it and it turns off on random and I can't even use it anymore. DO NOT get it.
Q:Hey, I'm having a problem with my new cell phone. I just got it a few days ago, it's a Virgin Mobile TNT model, also known as Kyocera Adreno S2400. The screen has gone black. The battery is fully charged, and the phone actually seems to still be on, since it's making sounds upon opening and closing. Hitting/holding the end button to turn it on or off produces no response. So basically right now, rather than having a cell phone I have a little box that makes noises when I open and close it. I've tried the Virgin Mobile website, but they don't really have a troubleshooting section. Does anyone know what the problem could be, and how I could fix it?
I also have the TNT, and actually had the exact same thing happen a couple weeks ago. I decided to hold the power button in for a few seconds so it would shut off (yes, I know it's hard to tell because the screen is black). I waited a few minutes and turned it back on and it was fine. If this doesn't work, try removing the battery and putting it back in. Also, I know through the Virgin Mobile website and most stores you buy the phones at, have a 30 day guarantee, so if all else fails, return the phone.
