Hey guys, theres a really hard question please help! 10 points! Why do specimans have to be coated in metals eg gold, before they can be scanned by an Electron Microscope? Please HELP!! 10 POINTZ
This is taken from the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Dallas instructions for the Scanning Electron Microscope Operation: Sample Preparation (p9 of the pdf file): The sample needs to be electrically connected to the sample holder to prevent the electron beam from “charging” the sample and distorting the imageThis is usually done through conductive tapeWe have double and single sided Copper sticky tape or little Carbon sticky pads If you have a conductive sample this simple attachment will work fine If you have an insulator substrate with a conductive film on the top, the top film must be electrically connected to the Aluminum sample holderThis can be done with the Copper sticky tape looped around the edge to the top surface of your sample If your sample is an insulator, then you will need to coat it with a conductive material – i.eAu/Pd or Carbon So samples that are insulators have to be coated with a conductive material so that the sample is electrically connected to the sample holder to prevent the electron beam from “charging” the sample and distorting the image.
This question is asked in the context of galvanic corrosion. Recently i cam across an article which says cad plated fasteners should not be used for fastening titanium. Kindly let me know if fasteners with Aluminium deposited using IVD method can be used as a replacement. Expecting your guidance.Thaks.Ranjith
Ion okorder / Other than this, I am not sure honestly. Good Luck though!
gluing fabric letters to a t shirt, what can i put underneath it so it doesn't stick?
More than likely, he just drank something cold or your thermometer is brokenIf his temperature truly is under 95 degrees, he would have hypothermia, which is life threateningUnless he's been exposed to cold elements, he probably doesn't have this.
The problem reads quot;a sheet of aluminum foil has a total area of 1.000 square ftand a mass of 3.937 gWhat is the thickness of the foil in millimeters? (Density of Al 2.699 g/cm3.)OK, density/mass volume; volume divided surface area thickness.2.699 / 3.937 06855 cubic cm x 10^3, equals 685.5 cubic mm1000 square feet 92903040 square mm so in total, it's 685.5cubic mm / 92903040 square cm 7.38 x 10 ^ -6.well according to my online homework, it's not.
To answer the part about what to do, I would first clean it wellYou can buy some aluminum polish in either hardware stores or automotive storesThat will probably help clean off the oxidationThen, take some rubbing alcohol and, while wearing gloves, clean off all the residue left by the polishYou wan the metal to be very cleanYou can then take a spray can of clear coat (found in most hardware store paint sections) and give it a light coating of clearThis will lock the aluminum in and keep it from reactingThis is what is done for most aluminum alloy wheelsJust make sure to make light coats so that the coverage is even.
cause i need to find the electric charge of an aluminum ion
aluminium ion is Al 3+ use your periodic table: count the number of valence electrons needed to add or take away to arrive at the end of the rowYour charge will be the lower number of electrons you modified.
Is the aluminum foil tape radiation proof?
All I know is that copper foil can protect against radiation. Aluminum foil hasn't heard.
When I melt the chocolate, should I add butter to it to make it easier to take out of the mold? I was just wonderingThanks for the help!!
No needWhen you un mold the candy it should come out easily What type of mold are you using? Something like plastic candy mold or silicone should not stick at allIf you are using a mini muffin pan, I have done that and it works very well, I line the muffin pan with little squares of aluminum foilOr if you have the little paper cups that are used for candy or little cup cakes that will work as wellMake sure you get a good base of the chocolate or it may crack when you try to un moldUsing the paper cups or squares of aluminum foil you eliminate that problem as you can leave the paper or foil on.
I believe turkey bags hold heat in better and I wasn't sure if I should still set the oven to 275 degreesAlso, will the sculpey figure stick to the turkey bag since it will be directly on it(I just ran out of aluminum foil)I will be putting the bag in the panAlso the tallest part of the figure is a little over 3 inches tall, while the middle part of the figure is about 1 1/2 inches tall and the shortest part of the figure is about 1/4 inches tallMy son has made a sphinx for his school project and since he has asthma I want to cook it safely without all the chemical reactions, not to mention, keeping my oven chemical freeHow long should I cook this thing for and what temperature should I set my ovenThe figure is formed, looks good, and now all I need to do is cook itThanks.
