Q:He pushes a can over the scaffold at 15 meters and it takes 3.25 seconds for it to land.I keep doing the problem over and over. the Correct answer is 20.5 m/s, however I keep arriving to the solution of 17 m/s. I solved it by doing Vf^2 = Vi^2 + 2adwhere the initial velocity is zero and the acceleration is -g. I made my coordinate system so that down is negative in which the distance will be negative. This however, did not give me the correct answer. Am I right or is the book right?: The initial velocity is not zero since the scaffold is moving upward when the can gets pushed over. And final velocity, vf, does not represent the speed of the scaffold (if that is what you're trying to solve). y = (vo)(t) - (1/2)gt? 15 m = (vo)(3.25 s) - (1/2)(9.81 m/s?)(3.25 s)? vo = +20.5 m/s

Q:what do you think?pain wise? i know it's going to hurt as it's a peircing (duh) but will it hurt especially as it's two thick pieces of cartilage?: it looks awesome just make sure you keep it under clean conditions, once it gets inflammed it is SUPER painful and dangerous

I have one in each ear, and they cost 75 each ask to get it pierced with a smaller gauge, they usually pierce with 14g and it looks too big on most people and is more likely to bubble over. Im a girl so this wont be a problem for you, long hair really sucks with these piercings so I suggest pinning it back. Get the ear pierced that you are less likely to sleep on, getting it pulled on while you sleep really agitated the piercing. Keep it clean, use medicated or anti bacterial soap at least five times a day. clean it with qtips. uhm that's all I can think of right now. Best of Luck!

And basically a reminder cartilage piercings do take a together as to heal. Q:Rather than buy tensile steel rods to reinforce concrete I wonder whether I can effectively recycle scaffold tubes that are presently on my roof.: You can, but I can think of two reasons why it might be unwise. Firstly, reinforcing bars are ribbed to provide a key between the concrete and the steel, whereas scaffolding bars are much smoother. This leads me to believe that scaffolding bars, weight for weight, wouldn't be as effective as reinforcement bars and you wouldn't have as much reinforcing action as you think. In extremis, you could end up with an under-reinforced concrete beam which will be brittle - reinforced concrete is usually deliberately slightly over-reinforced so that the behaviour close to failure is ductile, as it gives you time to run away. Secondly, scaffolding bars are hollow and reinforcement bars are solid. In reinforced concrete, the alkalinity of the cement paste helps to protect the reinforcement from corrosion - the reason for specifying a minimum cover - but the inside of your scaffolding bars would not benefit from this and so I'd worry about the risk of shortened life due to rusting from the inner face. At least when reinforcement bars rust they tends to spall the concrete cover off, which you see happening.

Q:If I know the length , width and height of the area for the scaffold, how do I calculate the tonnage?: tonnage is related to the volume of a certain material to be used in a certain project... so as to volume, tonnage is just the volume of the material to be used, given the specifiations in this case, scaffolds. consult your design and count the distribution of the scaffolds to be used.. average ratio of scaffolding tonnage is a ton per 10 square meter... also depends on the quantity of the project.

Q:Every time someone in medieval times was murdered by the beheading a new scaffold was built for the next prisoner.: Well that's not entirely true; they didn't ALWAYS built a new scaffold. Probably movies let you think so but that was not the case.
