Q:I got an industrial/scaffold piercing a few months ago and currently have captive bead rings in (The piercer put those in after he pierced it). The piercings are now healed enough for me to change the piercing, and I found an industrial bar on ebay which I'd really like to order. Only problem is, it has two choices on the gauge thickness and length, and I don't know which mine is.The gauge sizes available are 1.2mm (16g) or 1.6mm (14g) , and the length options are 32mm, 35mm, 38mm.Does anyone know which would be the best to get? Thanks.: Please ignore the the bigger the better idea. A longer bar can be as bad in an industrial piercing as a shorter bar can be. It really depends on what size you were pierced with...16g o 14g. Industrial piercings are typically done at 14g, 16g would be too small. The length depends on your anatomy...you really should go to a professional piercer to get the bar put in since your piercings aren't completely healed. That way everything can be 100% sterile and they will be able to fit the proper length of jewelry into your ear.

Q:hi guys i got my scaffold piercing a couple of days ago and it keeps bleeding on and off and there was dry blood but i removed it and its bleeding more what could i do step by step to keep total care of my piercing to get rid of all these problem please help it will really be appreciated: Dab it with tissue until it stops, Try not to play with it too much and if you need to touch it, ALWAYS wash your hands before doing so. Also do hot salt water soaks (as hot as you can stand) twice a day and it'll heal nicely in no time :)

Q:Im in college football, I would be puting on and taking off my helmet, I usually keep it on though during practice...but would it be wise for me to get an industrial piercing a couple months before 2 a days and the football season...would the sweat maybe infect my ear, but I am a very clean guy? thanks, if you have an answer it will help my decision.....: trust me, bro. bad idea. industrials are very tempermental at best. your helmet will cause every problem possible. any descent piercer would tell you the same. don't do it. they take up to a year to heal soif you really want one, quit football or wait til you're out of school.

Q:So I had a scaffold/industrial done about 10 weeks ago, and its been infected at the top hole only for about 3/4 weeks. It has like a little bubble near the hole and sometimes its filled with pus a little bit and sometimes its not. Well I went the doctors about 2 weeks ago and he prescribed me a weeks worth of antibiotics as well as anti-septic cream. So I took the pills for a week and it was clearing up, I was also applying the cream twice a day. But then yesterday I noticed the lump has gotten a little bit bigger. I don't know what to do, should I take it out? But I really don't want to. And plus the doc said to wait up to 3 weeks and if nothings changed to go back and take it out. If I continue to use the cream, will it eventually go? Thanks :): If so, its hypertrohic scarring, a common occurence in cartilaginous piercings caused by too much jewelry movement/improperly fitted jewelry. It can be treated by applying tea tree oil to the bump once or twice a day.

Q:So im a guyAnd I might get oneAnyone had one before/got one?Any advice?How much do they normaly cost?if you answer this i will love you forever :): okay, if you do end up getting it, make sure you get it on the side you DONT sleep on. dont let shampoo get on it. be really careful with it. if you have longer hair dont let your hair get caught in it cause it'll get tangled on it and it'll hurt and tug on the bar. it's usually around 40 dollars for it. this piercing requires a long time to heal and it has a high risk of infection. but if you take good care of it, you'll be good (: hope this helpedd.

Q:Scaffold Piercing Aftercare?Ok, so I was looking into getting an industrial piercing. However, I am very very serious about the aftercare, and I would dread any infection or anything going wrong. So, I was wondering, what are some aftercare cleaning tecniques/methods? I already know that antibacterial soap is good, as is the H20 cleaning spray stuff. And that you are supposed to clean it twice a day. But how and when should I do this? I have school which I can clean it before I go in the morning, but I don't get back until four, and then I take a shower at night always. I know it sounds silly, but are there some tips you have? Thanks!: I've had my industrial for over two years, it's a great piercing but aftercare is important and it does take awhile for it to heal. Here was my schedule for my industrial and all of my piercings since then... When I got my industrial I was in school until about 4 pm as well (I'm no longer in school now so I do it a little differently now) so this schedule might be doable for you. I took showers in the morning but that's not a huge problem. I'd wake up in the morning and while showering I'd clean my piercing with antibacterial soap AFTER I washed my hair and did my other shower rituals. Then when I got out of the shower I would do a short sea salt soaks (sea salt soaks are going to be much better for your piercing than H2O). I'd mix non-iodized sea salt in a clean new dixie cup with warm water, then I'd bend over and let my ear soak in the water for about five minutes. Sea salt soaks are great because they help promote healing and prevent/clean up infections. Then I'd go to school and after school I'd do a simple little rinse with a saline solution (which you can buy at any grocery store, usually around the contact supplies). Saline is good for when you're in a rush and don't have time to do a sea salt soak. Then at night I'd do a long sea salt soak and I'd soak my ear for about 10-15 minutes. Now for you, since you shower at night I would clean my ear with antibacterial soap every night in the shower and do a long sea salt soak after my shower, before bed. Then in the morning I'd so a short little sea salt soak before school and after school you can use a saline solution or the H2O. Good luck! This worked for me with all 6 of my piercings.
