Q:Way back in the day I had a few friends who had a system hooked up in their car that was really kewl and my nephew and I would like to get our hands on it. They had lights hooked up in the interior, floor boards, dash, etc.... Only the brightness of the lights depended on the loudness of the stereo. And no, they didn't dim when the bass hit, the lights were hooked up so that the lights brightened. I'm trying to find this setup now, but no matter how I search, the facts I know aren't leading me to the product. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and what the setup would be called please let me know so that we can figure out the price and see if its something we can do! Thanx!

you can do it yourself, buy the neon light that turns on with the music (costs about 25 bux and you can usually fint them in AutoZone) and hooks up to the lighter in your car, cut off the neon that came with it and wire (positive with positive and negative with negative) whatever neon lights you want to the adapter that goes inside the lighter and there you go

Q:i went to auto zone and they checked it for me and told me the code was obd II PO442 they told me all i had to do was change the gas cap, boy were they full of it, can anyone tell me what could be wronge, Thanks

That code deals with any sort of a problem in the Evaporative Emissions System. And usually a gas cap night tight enough or worn out is the likely fix. AND if it is that, the light may not shut off for 2-3 weeks after you tighten it enough to hear 3 clicks or after it is replaced and tightened that tight. HOWEVER there are similar causes of that code. 1 is a bad vent solenoid or valve, 2 a bad purge valve or solenoid or 3 a bad OBD computer on that car.

Q:i think when i was pulling fuses i set it off?

The air bag light will only come on when it does a bulb check at key on or when their is a fault detected. Check to be sure the fuses are in fully, if they are off to the dealer you go to have it fixed.

Q:I have a 2006 ford mustang coupe. Yesterday the emission system light turned and has not turned off. Where the mileage usually is it instead says 21 average mph. What does this mean?

it means you have a problem and you need to take it to a mechanic to get the computer scanned. If it were just 1 thing on the car then we could help you but that light could be on for many reasons.

Q:The goal here is just having cars see us, not headlights etc. battery operated Christmas lights might work, but i am afraid because of the cold weather, the AA batteries would run out quickly, and may not be bright enough so cars can really see us. I just would like to prevent an accident while on the town streets. Thanks in advance for your help. Any kind of lighting or battery system could work here.

If you're worried about the lights not being that bright, get a few strands. Or just use a couple of those flashing bicycle lights.

Q:Ok so I was driving and out of nowhere my engine light comes on and when I would complete a stop on a light my car would shake. It also kinda wanted to turn off on me but it didn‘t. And when I was in a stop and then accelerated my car would take out white smoke out of the exhaust. Also when I would try to accelerate it would have trouble accelerating it didn‘t want to go. And it kinda smell like gas also.I have a chevy cavalier 1999Please answer thank you

sounds like blown head gasket. white smoke good indication. the engine probably fuel injected? so engine trying compensate gas to the mix. the computer tries adjust the fuel mix in the engine apparently can't do it. so be my best guess. though could be other things too. if not head gasket maybe get compression test done but sounds engine internal.

Q:in an auto what does brake warning light indicate

Different cars might have various meanings with the warning light. On one of mine, a Ford, Windstar, the light will also go one if the brakes are not adjusted properly, or any sign of brake malfunction will set it off, plus low on brake fluid will light it up. The parking or emergency brake is another cause for the light to go on.

Q:this was a week ago, the check engine was on for 3 dayslight now it has not appeared again

It's probably nothing. Check engines lights come on for ridiculous reasons. I'm guessing what it would mean was your fuel to air ratio was lean and that's what made the light come on. It could do that because you need your injectors cleaned and or maybe there was a piece of carbon in there for awhile which made it lean out a little bit in turn turning your check engine light on. If your injectors were super dirty your car wouldn't run. I don't worry about check engine lights myself just because they'll come on for a stinking exhaust leak or whatever. They're quote annoying. I was kind of taught the old school way and just listen to your engine. If there's something wrong with it you'll hear it. I'd suggest though go to wal mart, autozone, whatever you have and get some injector cleaner. They have a bunch of different kinds you just add it to your tank of gas when you are about to fill up. That'd clean them out. If you have problems finding it just ask the guys at autozone or advance, napa I don't know what kind of auto parts store you have. But normally they're willing to help you out. And theyll steer you the right way. Hope that helps a little.

Q:Lately I have been having trouble with my Honda Accord‘s battery draining itself after I turn it off. Subsequently I have to get somebody to jump it when I want to drive it around. What could be the problem, and what is a cheap and effective way of finding out how to trace the problem and fix it?

Bob is right, but you don't want to spend a lot on 18 year old car right? Thought so, I don't know how inclined you are in electrical matter? But try to think logically, what could run on your car without key beeing on? check all fans make sure they turn off like radiator cooling fan run indipendent of your ignition switch, tepm. switch control turns off your rad. fan also condenser fan witch means it may not be turning off even if you turn off your car. Another possibility is glove compartment lights(depress switch failure when you close the glove compartment in your dash.
