Q:Or light photons, i don't know.And why?
It can be considered a wave or a elementary particle, but not a chemical. Light is strange. Visible light is a wave length that is small portion of the electromagnet spectrum, which includes radio waves, microwaves, and x-rays. This visible light portion of the electromagnetic spectrum activates the nerves in our eyes and sends messages to our brains and we see. Sometimes light is small packets called photons. These photons can be seen by how they effect what they hit. So sometimes light is a wave and sometimes it is a very small piece of matter called a photon.
Q:On the panel of and old aircraft (Caravelle), I saw the 'nav lights' switch had three positions: Off, Steady, Flashing,When and why were the nav lights required to be 'flashing'? (NB. it was nav light, not 'anti-collision' light).
Many French aircraft were, and possibly, still are equipped with a flashing position for the navigation lights. The reason for this is the ICAO rules for interception. The intercepted aircraft is to turn on its navigation lights (at night, rock wings during day) and flash them at irregular intervals if trying to indicate I understand and will comply to the intercepting aircraft. They were to be left on until the intercepter gave another instruction. The flashing mechanism in the aircraft was designed to flash the nav lights in an irregular fashion. Apparently, the French got intercepted a lot in the middle east and over Russia. Other uses were for indicating an inoperable radio. Flashing navigation lights used to mean no radio communication in parts of Europe. In the U.S., it is also customary (at night) to flash your landing light or nav lights when your radio is inop and you are acknowledging the tower's light gun signal. I can't think of a reason to let them keep on flashing and have a special switch position for that.
Q:Are there any differences between landscape lights and garden lights?
Landscape lights spacing is generally 15-20 meters, the actual size and illumination according to the light to determine
Q:part of my lights in the stereo.cd player went out, but only one section and then a few months later the lights behind the one heater dial went out, but most work, what could that be? my dome light stays on most the time, i had to take it out, but someone said that the doors arent triggering it to work right? help! thank you!!!
light in radio most likely burned out.....too expensive to tear apart to fix. light on dash is bulb behind gauges that burned out most likely. and dome light staying on normally means the triggers in the door are stuck in the on position and not releasing allowing the light to turn off. talk to a mechanic about each issue or someone that understands mechanics and knows what they are doing.
Q:I have a 1998 Chevy Prizm. The dashboard lights and the back tail lights are not working (at night). Is this a cause from a blown fuse or what?I did recently install a stereo, but made sure that the ground wire was grounded and that all the unused wires were capped and taped off (electrical tape). I also had a Viper 350 Plus alarm installed on it by a audio/alarm shop... could there be a problem here? Both the alarm system and the stereo system work completely fine.
Replace your headlight switch. All lighting is routed through it.Look at the terminals and you will see the middle connectors are fried.
Q:is it possible??
Just prepare basin filled with water, it must be large enough to allow you put both your hands, light bulb and bottle in it. You need bottle. Now with scizors poke and cut the twisted aluminium top somewhere in the middle. You will see that aluminium is soft for cutting, and peel it off. You will now have light bulb without aluminium and plastic on top. Next, put light bulb in water in inverted position, then get a screwdriver or scizors and break it from the top, which is now on bottom. Just punch it with scizors. You can also break some more sharp glass leftovers to make wider openning. Now, put filled with water bottle in water so it goes under water and invert it, just like light bulb. Now, reinvert light bulb, so all gas in it will, in the form of bubblesr go in inverted bottle on top (actual bottom). If it isn't coming out, try punching and shaking it. Or push the gas with scizors to enable it to go out. Eventually l.bulb will be filled with water and gas in bottle. In that position close the botle. Done.
Q:which part of photosynthesis occurs without light
the light independent stage, calvin cycle where carbon fixation takes place, occurring in the stroma of chloroplast
Q:Why is candle light considered soft and flourescent lights considered harsh?
I agree with devilsadvocate1728 on the color issue. Fluorescent light is in a certain part of the color spectrum that lends itself to greater contrast in colors. In other words, it has a high CRI value which brings out colors more than an incandescent source such as a candle flame. Light sources in the orange and red spectrum produce less of a contrast, softening the viewing environment.
Q:The theory of relativity states that gravity does effect light but how and why? Light does not have mass? Photons are energy not exactly atoms. They are not known to have any such weight/mass.
Light has energy and Einstein established the link between energy and mass. It is this link that allows gravity to affect light.
Q:Which one is faster? Lighting or Light? I was wondering because both are light and does that mean both travel the same speed?
What do you mean by the speed of lightning? Lightning is an electrical current flowing along a path of ionized air. That electrical discharge heats the air and makes it glow; this is the light you see. (The rapid expansion of the heated air creates a shockwave that you hear - thunder.) That light travels away from the lightning bolt at the speed of light, the same as the light traveling from the Sun or from a lightbulb. But the actual lightning bolt between the cloud and the ground moves slower than that. That path of ionized air that the current flows along takes a few tenths of a second to form between the cloud and the ground - if you figure a cloud height of 10,000 ft, the ionized air path is moving at about 100,000 ft / sec, or about 1/1000th the speed of light. The discharge happens pretty fast, but it stops and starts. You'll get a discharge, then a pause that lasts for 40-50 milliseconds, and then repeat. The glow might overlap that pause, as the air cools down relatively slowly, and it might burn itself into your vision if it's dark out, but you can often see it if you take high-speed video and slow it down. The whole event might take about a second. I hope that helps!
