Q:Just wondering if the eVGA GT 440 graphics/video card needs a power cable connect from the psu to it.I bought a PC pre-made from JB HI-FI and going to upgrade my graphics card. The one I have currently is the Radeon HD 4650 and it appears to have no cable connecting to it. There are however, some cables connecting to the motherboard near it.: No, it doesn't need one, but it's also a crappy purchase. The Radeon 6670 costs about the same, doesn't require external power, and slaps the GT 440 silly.

Q:having trouble finding a spot to run a power cable throught the fired wall of a 97 oldsmobile cutlass supreme: Normally, when I do systems, I run it through the hole in the firewall, that was factory drilled for the antenna wire. Unfortunately, I dont think the antenna in this car is located up front, so. People run wires through the door. I personally don't like this, because you can see.. My personal opinion, would be to drill a hole on the passenger side, underneath the dash,and fill the gaps with silicone and run your wires down the side of the door, pushed under the plastic.

Q:I have a Maxtor 3200 and I accidentally plug in the wrong power cable for it. I saw the light flicker on then off. I realized my mistake and tried to plug it in its correct cable but now it won't turn on at all. I figure that the wrong cable must of forced too much energy through it. However, is there any hope of retrieving my files at all?: Without knowing more, I can give you a definite answer. However, you do have a chance of getting your files back, especially if it's just the enclosure that's fried. In that case, it's a no brainer to yank the drive, and either toss it on a converter cable, or directly in a system. Have you looked to see how hard it is to take apart the enclosure?

How do I know if its compatible with my motherb?: you need to consider 2 things. 1. check the pin-out. the cable should match the connector on your mother board. 2. make sure you have atleast 600~750Watts power on the new power supply.

A new amp will have a specification for the input sensitivity. This is how many volts from the source will drive it. The line level output from your head and line level inputs on the amp should work. Line level outputs will probably not drive speaker level inputs on an amp very well.

Q:I am getting a new gaming computer for Christmas with a 700 watt, 12.5 AMP (I think) power supply. I have two power cords for computers on my shelf, but my dad is worried that a standard power cable won't properly power my computer. Do I need to get a more powerful cable? Q:Would a maxtor 320GB external hard drive work without a power cable if I connect it to the USB port?: you could make it work if you are planning to make a usb cable for power and another one for the receiving and sending of data. but if you are meaning to just plug in the usb cable from the hard drive to a port then no you can't a usb is ussually 5V and i don't think that's enough to power up a hard drive. just buy a power cable they aren't that expensive. if you have enough money to buy the external hard drive you wouldn't mind spending 5-10 dollars for a power connector.

I've never yet seen one that will not use the same cords as all the others. Use the one from the old supply
