Q:Best duct thickness for plastic and iron sheet,,,,,,,?
would increase the thickness
Q:How come the plastic sheets in my display folder become cloudy around the edges?
The clouding is caused by multiple microfine scratches. These occur more often near the ends as these are the most exposed areas.
Q:What's the best glue for binding 2 plastic sheets together then filling it with water permanently?Like a pouch
Water resistant normally does not include immersion. It depends on the plastic. And fabric department through the plastic bother me - is the plastic itself water tight? If you make a bag of a square by holding up the 4 corners and pouring water in the sag, does water drip through? As a starting point, I would suggest looking on the packaging for E6000 and GOOP products (from the same company) and see whether they are okay for immersion in water. I use them outside, but don't recall. You may have to fold the seam and apply the glue to hold the seam so the water only touches the glue at a thin line. Aquarium silicone glue should work, but it won't stick to some plastics. I am not sure acrylic sheet comes as thin as you want and PVC has to be opaque, I believe, but both use a solvent cement that partially melts the plastic then evaporates. If the plastic is thermoplastic - it melts when heated - then you can seal the seams with an iron. Check a small piece of the plastic over a match or kitchen burner - the difference between melting and burning should be obvious.
Q:How can i get burnt on plastic off of a cookie sheet?
I did that once, I got it off with a spatula....a spatula, and oil..
Q:There is mold growing on the bottom of the plastic sheeting in my crawlspace - should I have it replaced?
Yes, you must replace it the soonest possible. Mold can become airborne when disturbed. Spores that travel in the air can easily settle on mold prone surface and grow rapidly. Molds are very stubborn, once they start to flourish, it's hard to remove then completely. Therefore, you should take the precaution step by replacing the moldy plastic sheeting and remove any visible mold at its first appearance.
Q:Japanese plastic sheet that makes answers invisible.?
Try okorder.com/
Q:Will 2mil plastic sheeting work well for the plastic moisture block on the inside of your truck door....?
moisture doesnt care how thick your plastic is. and no it wont make MUCH of a sound difference. windows make more noise usually.. unless u have shotgun holes thru your door - i doubt it. just make sure the plastic is sealed all over.. moisture on the inside or outside? any cheap plastic will do - heck, even garbage bags.. theyre not exposed to sunlight so wont break down from UV.. just tape em airtight allover. use (non chinese) duct tape - its good. u can tear it in half size strips easily too/
Q:Where can i buy platics sheets or glass, cheap?
Any okorder.com/ ...
Q:how to bond an acrylic sheet to plastic?
All the plastic buckets I've seen so far are from PA, PP or PE - plastics chosen for their chemical inertness, which in turn also means that they're d*mn near impossible to glue (pretreatment with hot concentrated nitric acid is among the more accessible methods....). As is acrylic, btw. You might be able to weld them (chemically or thermally), but I wouldn't trust this weld if I did it for the life of the fish. If the overlapping area is large enough and the acrylic sheet goes on the inside of the bucket (so that the water pressure actually compresses the seam), you might try fish tank silicone. It won't really glue the parts together, but might stick well enough (probably until someone tries to poke it :-( ). But I doubt that you'll get that stuff in oe of the big box stores - ordinary builder's silicone or bathroom silicone are no good - they'll leach acetic acid and, in case of bathroom silicone, fungicides.
Q:Have hard plastic sheet w/ protective paper both sides. How can the adhesive, holding the paper, be removed?
Honestly, I don't know, however, I wanted to give you a warning. I tried to clean up some acrylic with Goof Off one time and it ended up cracking it, so be careful what you experiment with.
