- A light year is not a length of time, but the distance that light will travel in one Earth year (365 days), going at the speed of light. One light year is about 6 trillion miles, or 10 trillion kilometers. Because the universe is so big, some things are hundreds, thousands or millions of light years away. Because light that leaves a star 100 light years away will take 100 years to get to us, this means that when we see the star's light, we are actually seeing that star as it was 100 years ago. So basically it's how far light would travel in a year. =]

- Strobe lights and black lights together are nice. But I think a light beam would be to much. Can have them all in the same room, just don't turn them all on at once. For added effects, paint your room a dark color, find some glow in the dark paint, splatter it on the wall scarcely with a flick of a paint brush. Little more effect? Do the same thing with white paint. But don't go overboard. Turn your black lights and strobe lights on and enjoy what happens next..

- The force of electrical current flows back and forth 60 times in a second or 60 hertz. With this a pressure builds, the pressure is called amps. In a common home the most common circuit protection is at 15 amps. The pressure bleeds and can cause some weird things or even dangerous fires. So a grounding wire bare is added to catch this bleeding effect and ground it out to prevent or reduce fire hazards. In many light fixtures incandescent light bulbs are used. Any electrical imbalance can cause them to flicker or even blink off in some cases. A messy power supply will do this in many cases. This could be related to poor grounding of the electrical wiring. Many in light fixtures do not have a grounding wire hook up just hot and neutral. So they can blink with a change in current pressure to the lights. Some say ghosts do it. I don't get to talk to many ghosts but I do replace many old light fixtures and the blinking stops in many cases when I am done. Try asking and electrical handy man to look at the fixture and any switches to light. You may just need a new one. The pressure can wear out the fixtures over time and outlets and switches should be changed out once every 5 to 10 years. And the metal contacts on fixtures or the entire fixture every 10 to 20 depending on how it was made. The handy man should be able to tell you for certain. But as for ghosts, looking for trouble often finds you in it. Reading your bible is fine but staying away from trouble of the ghostly kind is always recommended. Let the dead be and forget their names.

- It pretty much means as is. Normally light rays travel in perfect straight lines (called Light rays) but all Gravity (not just black holes gravity) bends these lines. Normally even a planet's gravity bends the light so little that we don't notice... but more massive things like suns, white dwarfs, Neutron stars and black holes have such intense gravitational fields around them that the bending of light is actually big enough for us to notice. This manifests itself in us being able to See what is behind the object... because the light hitting the back of the object is bent round the side. So in the most extreme case (a black hole) We'd see a sort of squashed ring of what's behind it around the event horizon of the black hole. Light doesn't have Mass... but it does have energy... And we all know the famous equation E = mc^2. This states that Energy IS mass. So in a twisted way... light does have mass, since it has energy... and they are the same thing elementally. And gravity acts on anything with mass. The answer below me explains roughly the same thing in a more 'general relativity' method. (a more scientifically accurate method i must admit.) While mine is more classical... This is the basis for Gravitational lensing. I'd explain more but to be honest... i don't fully understand it myself and if i tried to explain what i know fully... it would take a small essay and may not totally be right.
