- Q:what color do i get if a combined:Magenta light+yellow light+ cyan light?
- First break down the secondary colors of light to the primary colors. Magenta is made up of red and blue. Yellow is from red and green. Cyan is from blue and green. So, now you know that basically you are mixing red, blue and green which makes white!

- Light is not a byproduct of heat. Heat occurs in different forms. One form, heat radiation, is of the same nature as light, i.e. electro-magnetic waves, just of different wave lenghts.

- That would be adequate for low light plants like Java moss and Cryptocorynes. Compact florescent (twisty) bulbs are good replacements in an incandescent hood. They are cheaper to run, produce more light, and emit less waste heat. That heat from an incandescent bulb can damage or even melt plastic near it. See if your pet store has Coralife bulbs. They come in 10 and 20 watt. Even the 10 watt will produce much more light than the 13 watt normal incandescent light bulbs. If you don't find them locally, they are available online from sellers like Aquarium Guys, Big Al's, and ThatPetPlace.

- you are confusing track light with recessed lighting. Recessed lighting is recessed into your ceiling. You cannot see the lighting unit, as it is hidden. Track lighting is the opposite of that. Track lighting affixes to a mounted track fully visible usually on the ceiling, but could be on the wall as well. Track lights can be moved with relative ease and pointed in just about any direction. You can use existing wiring depending on the breaker size and amps pulled from other fixtures the circuit.

- I was told to put my son in front of a window for a few minutes every day. A black light will do nothing. He needs sunlight.

- you can switch out the T8 fluorescents with blacklight fluorescents on your standard aquarium hood lights. But a better choice is above stated buy the blue LED moonlights they look awesome and have a nice effect and you can observe nocturnal fish at night.
