Q:I need somewhere to order big amounts of cheap guinea pig bedding. I tried using fleece,towels,newspaper etc but they just continue to smell and are a pain. I prefer using aspen, woodchips or some kind of bedding. I have a big (2x5 foot) cage with 3 guinea pigs. Bedding from the pet store for an appropriate size costs $20. That's like $20 a week! Way too expensive. Is there any farms or websites you know that sell CHEAP bedding? PLEASE help.

On amazon, they have really cheap bedding. Just search guinea pig bedding, and something along the lines of aspen bedding, 8 cubic feet will be there. (the picture looks like a big brown paper bagish thing.) It lasts, like, 4 months. :)

I use bedding as litter but you need to but grass or alfalfa hay in the litter so the rabbit will use. rabbits eat and poop. The size of the bedding you need depends on the size of the cage. I usually buy and bigger bag then what i need so I can scoop out where the rabbit peed or pooped and add more and also so I can change the whole litter a few times. I usually scoop everyday or every other day and replace with bedding and I change the whole litter every 2 weeks because there is some poop and pee you can't get out plus it starts to stink sometimes. sorry I don't know how many liters of bedding will last.
