what is a practical uses for the process of identifying an unknown compound using chromatography.
there are lots of different types of chromatography, since chromatography itself refers to seperation techniques which involve passing a mixture dissolved in a mobile phase through a stationary phase - in terms of paper chromatography the mobile phase is the water with the mixture dissolved in it and the stationary phase is the paperPaper chromatography is used to separate pigments - for example the different pigments in plant leaves such as chlorophyll etcit can also be used to seperate the different components of inks and dyesThin layer chromatography is similar to paper chromatography, apart from the fact that the stationary phase is not paper but a sheet of glass, plastic, or foil coated in an absorbant material such as aluminium oxide, silica gel or celluloseIt is used to analyse dye compositions in fabrics, for example during forensic analysis or to examine the purity of drinking water (i.echecking it is free of pesticides)It is also used to check the purity of pharmaceutical drugs Other types of chromatography include affinity chromatography, which is used to purify proteins in biochemistry, allowing them to then be identified using Mass-spec analyses.
Two blocks are placed in thermal contactOne block is aluminum (specific heat.900 J/gK) with the mass of 200g with an initial tempof 80.0 degrees CelsiusThe second block is iron (s.h..450 J/gK) with a mass of 100g with an initial tempof 40.0 degrees CelsiusWhat is the final temperature after thermal equilibrium is achieved? That is the whole problemAny help is appreciated!

When they scan my bag and see them, will they think that they might be weed or something? I know once they take them our theyll see theyre not, but ill still be really embarresedAnd are you allowed to have plants in your carry on bag, or should i put it in my suitcaseIm just afraid if i put them in my suitcase theyll get damaged. In case your wondering WHY i have two baby treesWell, im in San Fran and i went to see the Red Woods at that one parkAnd in the gift shop they sell baby red wood trees! :o the plastic tube they are in is only about 8-12 inches tall and about an inch in diameterI live all the way in Florida and im nervous traveling with themI dont wanr anything to happen to them!
They'll be just fine! And you have NOTHING to be embarassed about! Be sure you leave them in the original packaging, though, for the health and safety for the plants during travel, but also because agricultural rules are very strict about carrying plant stock and you cannot bring any plant stock or seeds into the US from abroad! If the trees are in the original packaging nobody will have a problem at allI carried a baby orange tree from FtLauderdale to StLouis, and it was just fine - they looked at the package and saw the printed seal about origin, and that was allMy orange tree was in a wee little pot at the bottom of a cardboard squared box with holes cut out and cellophane that had holes for air at the top - about the size of a package of aluminum foilGood luck with the trees!

I have a half bath with no exterior wall, how far can I run a flex hose from a vent to an exterior wall? I could run it over the furnace, past the washer and dryer, which are enclosed in a bifold door closet off the kitchen and outside via the same wall the dryer is vented toThis would be about 20 feet - is that too far to go? The other option would be to vent it to the crawl space but that would mean removing part of a wall and redrywalling to do that, I can do that but would prefer a simpler way - its a town house so only 2 exterior walls to work with, and only one that is a viable optionHumidity isnt a problem, the cats litter box is the problem - thanks
Make felt out of it, I have not try yet but you can get how to do it from internet.
