I had a red-eared sliderIt was one that hatched from an eggIt was only the size of a nickle when hatched, and within nine months it was about 4 inches long! I had to keep increasing the size of his tank as he grewYours is too small! I got a huge rubbermaid container at Wal-MartHe had about 8 inches of water, with a platform to crawl out, and a lamp from a hardware store that has the aluminum surrounding itI bought a special 40 or 60 watt ultraviolet light bulb and put it about eight inches above the platformI kept it on all day for him to baskAt night, I turned it offI had a regular aquarium filter that was big enough for a 30 gallon aquarium, and several aquarium heaters to keep the water warmIf their water and his environment is too cold, it will become lethargic, and maybe even go into a hibernation modeThey wont eat when it's too cold, eitherThe bottom, I had about 1-2 inches of sand He thrived in this environment.

I make a recipe called dirty riceI use one cup of uncooked long grain rice, one can of Campbell's Beef Broth and one can of Campbell's ConsommePreheat your oven to 375F, spray an 8X8 or so pan with Pam, pour all the ingredients in the pan, cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for about 40 minutesSome people add a little butter or margarine, maybe one or two tablespoons, but that isn't necessary.
I am wanting a hard boiled egg and want to know if I can put it in a heavy plastic bowl and water if I can boil it in the microwave
Put eggs in microwave safe bowl with enough water to cover the eggsMicrowave on high until water begins to simmer/boil (10-15 minutes depending on microwave wattage and the volume of water in the bowl)Turn off microwave and place a plate over the bowl to hold in the heatLeave covered bowl in microwave for 15-20 minutesDon't skip the last step since the eggs will actually be cooking in the hot water while coveredThis will make perfect hard boiled eggs without the greenish ring around the yolkThe eggs will not explode using this method.

I just bought an organic turkey from trader joes, and it says keep refrigerated-Best by 11-30-09I thought turkey can only be refrigerated for 1-2 days or else bacteria will start to multiplyI don't want to freeze it since this turkey has never been frozen and we want to try it that waythanks!
Don't open the packaging until you're ready to begin preparation for cooking; that will keep out any foreign contaminantsTHEN salt it inside and out and submerge it in a deep bowl/pot of water overnight (inside the refrigerator) on Wednesday nightCooked turkey will last up to two weeks in the refrigerator if kept wrapped tight in saran wrap or aluminum foil; you want to keep all air out of the wrapping as much as possibleIf you want the REAL final word, call the Butterball hotline; they have a website as well.
For physics class I have to make a boat no larger than 100 centimeters squared out of aluminum foilI has to hold more than 25 pennies to get a passing grade, more than 40 to get an AWill putting Vaseline on the bottom surface of the boat (the part that touches the water) help in any way? I came up with the idea because I think it would help it stick to the surface of the water better.
The shape of the boat is what is important for keeping it up.
