FAQ

1Write balanced chemical equations for each of the following reactionsDon’t forget to indicate phaseIf a precipitate forms, circle itIf all “products” are predicted to be soluble, indicate that there is no reaction by writing “NR”aAqueous sodium iodide is mixed with aqueous silver nitratebAqueous potassium hydroxide is mixed with lead(II) nitratecAqueous magnesium nitrate is mixed with aqueous sodium phosphatedAqueous barium nitrate is mixed with sulfuric acideAqueous aluminum nitrate is mixed with aqueous ammonium sulfidefAqueous lead(II) nitrate is mixed with sodium sulfate.
You get a definitive reaction if a portion of the reactants leave the solution, either by becoming a gas or by becoming a precipitateThat being said: a) Silver iodide precipitates so there is a reaction b) lead hydroxide will tend to precipitate so there is a reaction c) Magnesium phosphate will tend to precipitate so there is a reactiond) Barium sulphate is not very soluble so there is a reaction e) Aluminum sulphide will tend to precipitate so there is a reaction f) Lead sulphate should tend to precipitate so there is a reaction You do the balanced equations.
How can I remove marks from paintwork where aluminium has come into contact?I have a recently painted white office space, and every time my aluminium chair comes into contact with the paint, it leaves a silver/grey markIt doesnt scratch the paintwork, just leaves a mark on topI can't wash it off, so am looking for tips on how to remove it without damaging the paintworkAnybody know what it is, and how to remove itSeems only to mark water based paints, not oil based ones. Thanks!SimonC
Provided its not actually scratched and only a surface mark, try the 'Magic Eraser' product from Arm n HammerJust dampen the sponge and light rub the marking off the wallIt works unbelievably wellMy young son used red crayon all over the flat white painted wall in his closet and Magic Eraser took it completely offYou'd never even suspect it had been colored onWell worth a couple of bucksI keep em around all the time now.
I need to make a hanging mobile(kinetic sculpture) for physics class that demonstrates torgueInstead of abstact shapes I'd like to use birds :) I need some way to make theseThere are a lot of materials available, styrofoam, types of wood of various thicknesses, I could get feathers, there is a jigsaw available for cutting as well as razorbladesI can get paint and a few other materials as wellI'd like the bird to be 3 dimensional, 2 sitting and 5 flying ones(Gotta figure out how to make outstretched wings)I believe there is cardstock as well.I was THINKING carving styrofoam for the body and head of the bird and using cardstock or thin wood for the tail and wing feathers and then painting themI have never worked with stryofoam though so I am not sure if it is difficult.Someone also suggested origami but I'd prefer to keep it a bit more realistic looking.
I am not sure how a mobile demonstrates torque unless you are going to use monofilament that is fairly thick so that it winds up some then unwindsThey are usually used for balance and if the thread is not thick, it will take a very long time to settle down Styrofoam can be very frustrating to carve or shape: the bead kind looses beads and both kinds put off a lot of dustIt is usually shaped with a hot wire that carves its way through and seals the surfaceEspecially if you are trying for smaller than a 4 body length, it will be very fragile and break in your hands Paper mache or plastic clay might be choicesWings might be aluminum foil or aluminum sheet from soda cans or index card stock.
how many ELECTRONS ARE UNPAIRED IN THE OUTERMOST SHELL OF ALUMINUM (Al, ATOMIC NUMBER 13)?
the respond is b) 3the 1st electron shell can basically carry 2 electrons: 2e) the 2nd shell can basically carry 8so if akuminum has 13 electrons: 2e) 8e) because of the fact the 1st shell holds 2 and 11 greater electrons are needed to get a finished of 13 electrons you should function greater shellsthe 2nd shell can basically postpone to eight however so which you like one greater shell to incorporate the extra 3 electrons: 2e) 8e) 3e) because of the fact the shell protecting 3 electrons is the outer shell, above the different shell(s) then 7 electrons are got here upon in the outermost shell of this factor.
Can you help me and check my answers here?
1 is wrongProtons and neutrons ARE hadronsThey're made up of up quarks and down quarks6 is right, but I'd say incompleteA thick enough layer of all three of those items will stop beta particlesBeta particles have a range based on the amount of matter they can penetrateAluminum happens to be denser than paper, and both are denser than airSo all three will stop beta particles, but aluminum foil will stop beta particles that would make it through the same thickness of paper or air10 is wrongA nucleon is a particle found in a nucleus - a neutron or a proton - not a particle that makes up a neutron or proton11 is wrongThe first choice is the beta particle The mass number stays the same on both sides of the arrow - 59 The atomic number of the daughter product increases by one, indicating an increase in positive chargeThe particle emitted carries a charge of -1 to keep the charges in balanceThis is an electron, which is the same thing as a beta particle14 is wrongA radioisotope thermal generator uses the heat from radioactive decay to provide electricityThe third choice shows the radioactive decay of plutonium, which is what is typically used for a thermal generator15 is wrongTechnically, the right answer is not one of the choices givenThe up quark has a charge of +2/3The down quark has a charge of -1/3If the question is looking for the absolute magnitude of a charge, down quark would be the right choice, but the test writer should lose some points here:-) 19 - I can't get the image to loadSince the word reaction is used, we can rule out medical X-ray deviceIf it just shows a simple decay, it would be the radioisotope thermal generatorIf it shows light atoms combining with each other with heavier atoms resulting, that's a fusion reactorIf it shows heavy atoms breaking apart, and especially if it shows neutrons from the reaction hitting other nuclei and triggering fission there, that's a fission reactor.
I don't have the original packaging or anything. Also, if you know what kind of memory socket 17quot; imacs have, please tell meThanks!
I run nothing but SS as they are more durable an don't flex when skiingyou can try a 4 blade as it's smoother $$$ is your boat turning full rpm awot loaded fuel gear if not than drop 1 pitch or if over rpm than go up 1.There are thing you can do if carbered not EFI
i purchased 5 pounds of aluminum powder. i want to know how much aluminum that is, by volume, assuming it was solid, in some unit i can work with( cm3, in3, LxWxH)
At room temp, it's density is 2.70 g/cm? That's about 51 in?
I have a frame whose rear drop out spacing is about an 1/8quot; smaller than the hub body that I want in thereI dont want to buy a new hub, or worse frameI have tried all-thread, nuts and washer rig to quot;spreadquot; the tubing but I get a spring back when I remove the rig to install the wheel.I have tried a car jack, heavy piece of cheater pipe to spread and pry.No luck with the spring back. Please help !! I can't be the only one that has this happen to them.
what is it made of? aluminum i would expect to not be permanently bendable steel maybe more so i don;t see what else you can do try spreading it if it doesn;t stay you are stuck i wouldn;t try heat it could unpredictably change the tubing characteristics wle.
