i spent so much buying rechargeable batteries for my player (4 pcs size AA). i cannot wait charging the batteries especially when i am on the go. i want a portable battery pack which i can take along when i go out. my player requires only 9v. playing video at long hours easily consumes the charge that's why i am looking for a battery pack which lasts longer.

NO, they are different voltages, what will happen is that the second will discharge into the first, until either one is discharged or the other is overcharged and damaged. If they were of equal voltage, you could put them in parallel, and perhaps you could charge in parallel, although that depends on the charger. It may be risky. Yes, in parallel, the mA-hours do add. No, no alternate solution, it just doesn't work. .

Those batteries dont work on normal quick chargers. I suggest you have a peak charger. If you do, about 2.5 amps is what you want to put on it. Anymore and you will burn it up. And let it cool down after charging and after driving. I have seen too many people bring in their melted Nickle Metal packs. It is a good battery and will do what you want it to do.

I have the Canon Powershot SX30 IS, which came with a Canon Li-Ion battery pack. After a battery fiasco at the TXRenFest, I'm searching for good back up batteries. The battery pack that came with it is a 7.4v, 1050mAh, 7.8Wh. The Canon batteries are so expensive! I've found several others that range from $7 - $15 (Canon is $30 - $70).My question is, will using a non Canon battery hurt my camera?

I've used other brands for my Canon dslr cameras as well but now, nearly 2-years later, I'm beginning to have problems with them. One of them has swollen some and is too tight for the battery chamber. So I've gone back to Canon. I just bought 2 new lp e5 batteries refurbished from Amazon. They are Canon batteries so we'll see how refurbished holds up.
