Q:does light have mass?
Light has relativistic mass (mass by virtue of its energy), in the same way we gain mass when we're moving (ie, very little). Photons have no rest mass though, so if you could stop a photon it would cease to exist. Is light a matter? I don't know what you mean by that. Light can be considered a stream of photons (small packets of energy) or as a wave which requires nothing to carry it (as opposed to, say, sound, which can only travel through something with matter in it. It can travel in air, water, etc, but not in a vacuum). As light can act as both we say it has a quantum duality. As light is so small and quick we don't have any way of observing its appearance without coming up against limits imposed by Heisenburg's Uncertainty Principle. That is a physical law stating how much you can know about a particle, you're welcome to read up on it, but basically that's what it suggests. Gravity does affect light. That's actually what we use to detect black holes. It's only largely deflected by stars and black holes though.
Q:Wavelength and frequency of light in water?
Hello - Here are the basics - then below are the answers. ******* When a beam of light crosses the boundary between a vacuum and another medium, or between two different media, the wavelength of the light changes, but the frequency remains constant. If the beam of light is not orthogonal (or rather normal) to the boundary, the change in wavelength results in a change in the direction of the beam. This change of direction is known as refraction. ******** When a ray of light enters a drop of water, the frequency of the light remains the same. TRUE The speed of light in a raindrop is less than the speed in air. TRUE When a ray of light exits a drop of water, the frequency of the light decreases.FALSE When a ray of light enters a drop of water, the wavelength of the light remains the same.FALSE - it decreases When a ray of light enters a drop of water, the wavelength of the light decreases. TRUE Hope this helps Bill
Q:how does gravity affect the speed of light?
Yes, light is affected by gravity, but not in its speed. General Relativity (our best guess as to how the Universe works) gives two effects of gravity on light. It can bend light (which includes effects such as gravitational lensing), and it can change the energy of light. But it changes the energy by shifting the frequency of the light (gravitational redshift) not by changing light speed. Gravity bends light by warping space so that what the light beam sees as straight is not straight to an outside observer. The speed of light is still constant.
Q:How do you measure Light year?
A light year is defined specifically by the International Astronomical Union based on the speed of light in a vacuum. In terms of what scientists mean when they say a star is X light years away, they are generally getting that number by calculating the redshift of the body in question. Redshift refers to the lengthening of electromagnetic waves as they travel through the universe. Since the universe is expanding at a known rate, scientists can work backwards and see how much the light from a distant star has shifted toward red in order to determine how long that light wavelength was traveling through expanding space. The more shifted the light is, the farther away the object is. An exact calculation can yield a relatively precise result for the distance of the object, which can then be converted into the familiar unit of light years from earth.
Q:light beer = less drunk?
Funny you ask, a couple of years ago when I was in college, they put a French exchange student named Pierre with me and my roommates. He loved drinking and said no one in France drank light beer. I at the time loved Coors Light and when I would drink it he told me Coors Light is for Gays no?! it has less alcohol he said. I laughed and said no Pierre just less calories. I later found a website that listed alcohol content by volume on it for several differnt beers. Turns out he was right! Most of the american light beers on the list were in the neighborhood of 4.2% and most american non light beers was around 5.0%. Have 3 Coors Light one night the next night have 3 Coors Original, you'll seethe difference. So in short, light beer, a little less drunk, yes. However, if you plan on pounding back several in one night, it shouldn't matter either way. Hope this helped
Q:Replace fluorescent lights with rope lights?
Yes, it's possible, BUT... IF the light wiring is connected directly INTO a light switch, that project needs to be done either by an Electrician, OR someone who really KNOWS WHAT he/she is doing!!!!! Another remote possibility is, IF you have a receptacle that is CONTROLLED BY a light switch, then plug the light string into that outlet. Another less expensive option is to simply plug and unplug the light string as needed.
Q:Lights on ? or Lights off ?
Does not matter at all. I never thought about it but when I have sex with the light on or off, the sex is different. A little more visual appeal with the lights on and a little more umph with the lights off. lol. I'm gonna have to change my sex style now. lol.
Q:Black light harmful to eyes?
Yes it can cause permanent blind spots
Q:what is a black light spy cameras?
it okorder.com/
Q:Parking,Head and High Beam Lights?
If you don't know you shouldn't be driving or think about driving until you know
