Q:So I reckon it's time to install some of these bad boys. it's come to point where electricity providers are charging such extortionate amounts that I can definitely see these reaping huge rewards before long. (Okay I might be exaggerating a little - they are pretty costly themselves). The problem is I've read around that they're only fitted to south facing houses? Why so? Why can't they be installed on the rear side of the roof - the side facing the garden? My house is facing north, so the front door leads north. Could I have solar panels installed on the back? (That's basically my question, with a bit of a rant too lol).Cheers.
You want the panels facing south because that is where they would get the most sunlight throughout the day. If your front door is facing north, then the back of your house would be facing south, right? So put them up in the back where they are facing south...haha wtf..
Q:I can't figure out how to charge a Ni Cd (BD 8V Firestorm) battery directly with a solar panel so I've come up with an alternative which might or might not work. I thought I would connect an inverter (I found a nice 400W for $30) to my trucks battery and plug the BD Firestorm battery charger into the inverter. Then I was thinking I could use a 5W solar panel to trickle charge the truck battery and keep it connected after the Ni Cd is charged to ensure the truck battery is topped off. The truck would not be running during this process. Will this solution work? Is there a better solution?
image voltaic charger employs image voltaic ability to offer electricity to units or cost batteries. they're oftentimes portable. image voltaic array: electric powered gadget alongside with an excellent array of related image voltaic cells image voltaic Panel is a crew of image voltaic cells arranged right into a panel which would be put in onto a flat floor. The panel captures image voltaic and converts it into DC ability.
Q:On how to connect a solar panel to a battery and then to a lightbulb, the project is offgrid..
This is my system: Solar Panelcharge controllerBatteryInverterLights. Keep positive to positive, negative to negative. The solar panel has a cable that has a polarised two pin disconnect (more or less takes care of itself), as does the harness that connects to the battery, a couple of extension cords, and the charge controller itself. The harness in its current install is fixed to the inverter DC in studs, which has a cable that is fixed to the battery. The harness also had a fuse holder and 0A fuse. Except the battery, panel, and lights themselves, all the works are in a mostly sealed box with only panel, battery, and AC cables leaving. The mains voltage lights (about 3x23W CFL) are connected to a power inlet, which is linked to the inverter power outlet with a short cord. The lights are controlled by turning the inverter on or off with its control switch. The inverter is a 400W cheapo, battery 36Ah AGM, panel 20W, controller basic 7A.
Q:I have a college project due within a week, and it involves a 00 Watt solar panel and a 2V 7.5Ah Battery. I got the project finished up and producing free energy for my house in September, however recently the battery I bought, that was specifically made to hold Solar Power, lost its charge (unsure how or why) and it is pretty much useless. Can I just go to a store and buy any 2V car battery to use?
A 2 volt battery is a 2 volt battery. Some are larger than others. Sure you can charge a car battery with a solar panel, but 00 watts for a long time could be a problem. There's one way to find out.
Q:I don't see much solar panels on people's houses where I live. I got a long time to go before doing so but I was planning on buying a few solar panels when I retire in the far future. In your opinion, is such an investment worth it? Would you buy them? I realize they are very expensive hence why I said when I retire. Thanks for your opinion
I have a boat in a sunny position and four eighty watt panels. These will run my fridge television and a few LED's. I nonetheless need to run my engine for sizzling water and washing desktop. My Batteries only final a couple of years and are an actual affliction. I am going on the mains when i will be able to to get the batteries topped up. The panels are adequate if there's nothing else, they don't seem to be the answer to the way forward for power provide. There's additionally the ethical part of the feed in tariff. For the wealthy to load their electrical power bill onto the less good off just isn't desirable and those panels on the roof inform all of your neighbors that you are doing it. As a way to exhibit a grasping selfish attitude. If they're any just right why don't the vigour companies purchase them and shop shopping coal?
Q:Can solar panels be installed on fences?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on fences. In fact, installing solar panels on fences is becoming increasingly popular as it maximizes space utilization and allows for efficient energy generation in areas with limited roof space. Additionally, fence-mounted solar panels can provide added privacy and security benefits.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a sports stadium or arena?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a sports stadium or arena. In fact, many stadiums and arenas around the world have already installed solar panels to generate clean and renewable energy. These panels can be placed on the rooftop, parking structures, or even integrated into the façade of the building. Installing solar panels on sports stadiums and arenas not only helps in reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainability but also saves on energy costs in the long run.
Q:Are there any tax credits available for installing solar panels?
Yes, there are tax credits available for installing solar panels. The federal government offers a Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) that allows homeowners and businesses to deduct a certain percentage of the cost of their solar panel system from their taxes.
Q:I really would like to have my own solar panel, but i don't know how. Most of the panels i have looked at are for car batteries but i'm not sure how this would be able to be transfered into electricity. I'm looking to power things like lamps, a stereo and various chargers for phones and ipods. Please explain to me how i could adapt a solar panel to my uses. Thank you.
Sounds okorder .. I've seen the particular device listed there. While the lamp is mediocre for an LED light source, the panel is excellent - real polysilicon wafers, in an aluminum frame. Same construction as the kind of panels in commercial installations.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on flat surfaces?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on flat surfaces. However, it is more common to install them on angled surfaces such as rooftops or mounting structures to maximize their efficiency and exposure to sunlight.
