- Only the light from lasers is coherent. It means that the stream of photons that constitute a beam of light have their vibrations all in step with each other. Think of a series of sine waves. If the waves all move up at the same time, they will also move down at the same time - they are in step, they are coherent. Light from the Sun, light from a light bulb, consists of photons that are not in step. Coherence can be forced on very weak beams of light by letting photons through a single slit, whereupon the light diffracts outwards and if then passed through twin slits will form two coherent beams which can then form a regular interference pattern. And its forming interference patterns that you want coherent light for.

- I may be totally off with this but infinity reminded me of a type of decorative light fixture which was more artsy than a viable light source. The structure was basically a shadow box perhaps 3 inches deep, and in this case it may have been square. At the back of the box was a mirror that fit entirely. Around the inside of the box were what may have been white christmas lights, and the face was glass covered. As I recall the entire structure was painted black. As I'm thinking this however there must have been other mirrors, unless the back of the clear glass front was refelctive to the inside, because what one could see was a series of these lights in a vanishing perspective way. - No such thing. Fog light are low mounted clear or amber lights to help see in foggy conditions. Green lights are not allowed on any vehicle, strobe lights only on public safety vehicles.

- a light bulb connected in a closed circuit that has current running through it acts like a resistor. now...the power dissipated by this resistor is just the voltage across it times the current going through it. however, in the real world, not all the power dissipated to going to match the power supplied to it by the voltage source (provided that only the voltage source is connected in parallel with the light bulb) so does that mean that it violate the law of conservation of energy? of course not! in the real world (this world) some of the energy turning into, you guessed it!, thermal energy, aka heat aka joule heating...
