ProductIntroduction

Carbonfiber composite core conductors(hereafter called CFCC for short) consists of composite core and annealedaluminum formed wires  outer layer. Theannealed aluminum formed wiresouter layer and its adjacent layer aretrapezoidal cross-section. CFCC is a kind of carbon fiber product with highperformance. Compared with the traditional aluminum conductorssteels-reinforced(hereafter called ACSR for short), it has series of advantagesincluding light weight, high tensile strength, high heat resistance, corrosionresistance, high current carrying capacity etc.

Inthe case of the same weight, CFCC has higher current carrying capacity, whichwill be twice of the conventional ACSR. The annealed aluminum formed wireswhich has less line loss is used in CFCC. Moreover, Composite core isnon-magnetic material, so it does not have magnetic loss and thermal effectscaused by the steel wire material. It will greatly reduce the line transmissionloss. CFCC can improve the current carrying capacity under high temperaturesince its heat resistance (can be 160 aslong-term running temperature) is far more higher than that of the ACSR (70 as themax operating temperature). On the other hand, CFCC has light weight. So in thecase of the same weight, cross-section of aluminum can be increase by 20%-40%.Therefore Reerecting the new CFCC line for increasing transmissioncapacitywithout transforming the poles and towers became possible.

CFCChas the higher strength and higher level of safety. The tensile strength of theACSR is 1240MPa, and high strength steel conductors is 1410MPa; however CFCCcan be up to 2400MPa which increases the safety.

Itwill reduce the transmission line corridor, save land resources and lower thecomprehensive total cost of transmission line construction by using CFCC. CFCC’s linear expansion coefficient is small, and it reduces the lines sag, andwill not be affected by long-term creep of aluminum, also it avoids sag due tothe thermal expansion of the traditional ACSR. The height of the tower can bereduced, and the distance between towers can be increased due to its lightweight. More than 16% poles and towers will be reduced to save the transmissionspace height and areas.

CFCChas good anti-aging performance and long operating life. it avoids the troublethat the ACSR’  electrochemical corrosionbetween the aluminum and galvanized steel core. compared with the ACSR, CFCCresist acid rain corrosion.

CFCChas good resistance to wind load .with its high strength, light weight, crosssection covered by aluminum formed wire, small diameter.

CFCChave the ability of melting snow and ice. The outer layer has no gaps and iscompacted smoothly. Snow and ice is not easy to be freezed. The conductor willmelt snow and ice by itself When it is running under high temperature also.

CFCChas high current carrying capacity to reducing electricity generationcost and saving energy. It will reduce the line loss by 28% in the case of sametransmission capacity.
