Q:I have a leak and all the hoses are fine but I am not sure were the water pump is also has anyone had this repaired and what did it cost (part plus labor) in general is it hard to get to? Thanks in advance
all water pumps are located in front of engine usually center with a pulley belt turning it circulate your car coolant, if you didn't know this, please see a mechanic or Chrysler dealer for the help you need
Q:Can someone please post a picture of how to find a Water Pump on a 1992 Dodge Spirit with a K2.5L Engine, it would be much appreciated. :)
not a bad idea to post your question in the boating section, considering that us boaters are smarter than most, but you'll probably have a better chance of resolving your problem if you post it in the automotive repair section.
Q:I am having overheating issues with my 1993 3.4L V6 Camaro,Once I start the car with no AC or Heat on while at idle or driving the car will overheat, almost to the red line. When I get onto the highway it will slowly drop all the way down to operating tempeture. Also if I turn on either the AC or Heat while driving around town the car will not overheat. On my way home I turned everything off and let the car overheating, when I got home I opened the hood and the fans are going but still overheating. Also the major sympton is that the water pump will click on and off when I have AC blowing. It will click on and off every 10 seconds or so.New waterpump?
Try a thermostat first. The heater bypasses the thermostat and the engine runs cool. Its a cheap fix and if thats not the fix go with troubleshooting the radiator, colapsed hoses, water pump! Be sure to install it correctly!
Q:The water burst how to repair?
The general water burst positions for the pump body, pump cover, if not very serious welding can be used to trap, at which point the attention electrode material, most of the water pump are cast iron, so the welding difficulty is not small. If it has become deformed or has split into parts, replace it.
Q:can i drive my car ,with a blown water pump, 5 miles to a service center?
Absolutely not. You'll most likely end up blowing the radiator. A great amount of pressure can/will be built up in the radiator and that's not good. I had the water pump go out in my Mazda MPV and didn't know it. I was going up the expressway and just so happened to notice that my temperature gauge was in the red and then I heard a pop and water and steam came shooting up from underneath the hood. You can usually only go about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile with a blown water pump. You'll have to get it towed.
Q:My water pump keeps getting quite hot after each use. Everything seems to be working properly, except I think that the heat may cause it to burn out and that would cause a huge problem. My pump pulls water from a ground level water tank and pushes water up three flats to the part of my house used for living quarters. The pressure setting is set to cut out at 40psi and cut in at 25psi. What can I do myself before calling in expensive experts?
You need to be more clear.. is it the pump thats getting hot or is the motor that drives the pump. If its the motor, well that may be normal cause motors are made to work. depending on how old the motor is the windings in it may be losing their insulation. the more insulation is lost the hotter it will get and eventually come to the end of its life. If its the pump only getting hot then it could be that something got inside it and is causing it to run hot. Usually its some debris that got inside of it. If you can, open it up and inspect it. There are many types of pumps so which one you have i can not say but this should lead you to the source of the problem. Was there ever a time when the pump ran cooler or is this something you just discovered? It may be normal for it to run hot. Motors are workhorses and they just work.
Q:My 1999 ford taurus WATER pump and serpentine belt need to be replaced because I can't stir the stiring wheel .... Would you know approximately how much this could cost so I dont get ripped off ??? I know nothing about cars... and this mechanic is saying between 300$ to 400$ and that is wayyy too expensive . It was kinda obvious to him that I know nothing about carsTHANKS A LOT!!!
Sounds about right to me, the parts would run right around $100 total or maybe a little more and of course the shop has to make their money. Water pump removal generally requires at least partially draining the cooling system (pain in the ***) in addition to trying to get the pump out of a FWD vehicle. Not the best price possible but definitely fair.
Q:Ok, so I was driving the other day when I heard this quot;clunksound...my AC went out (stopped blowing cold), and power steering went out. I pulled over and one of the wheels where the serpentine belt goes on was off and obviously the belt was off too. I got it towed to a shop where they showed me I needed a new belt - it was ripped, and told me I need a new water pump...all together a 400 dollar job after labor and parts. I was hoping I would just need a new belt and they could bolt back on the wheel...From a chic standpoint, this seemed logical. I know nothing about cars and I'm always very skeptical when I take my car anywhere to get it worked on bc I could be told anything and wouldn't know the difference...Has anyone had a similar experience or does this sound like the problem? I have a 07 honda civic...around 80,000 miles.
to make it simple what it sound like that they are saying is that the water pump is broken and when this happens in some case one can not turn the pulley of the water pump so the belt would slip on it so long until it overheats and melts leading it to rip. if u don't trust your mechanic have another mechanic look at it and if they tell you the exact same thing chances are they are both right.
Q:i have a problem with what i think is my water pump, and i was wonder if anyone had any websites that have free engine diagrams, and if it is my water pump, it turns on and off when at idle, is that normal, if not, what could be the problem?
you can go to your local chevy dealership service center and not only they can get any part you need they can give you a diagram of your engine. i hope this is helpful to you and good luck.
Q:i have just bought a coachman 1994 wanderer but water pump do`snt work, there are 3 wires to pump socket inside the van, white, red, yellow, only the white was fitted and reads 12v to earth, the other 2 read 6v to earth, any help as I cant find a wiring diagram on net !
