Hmm. I have bought the same type of rug only in a dark blue with the note to spot clean. I had the same thing happen except on linoleum. I didn't really pay much for it so I thought I'd try washing it on a gentle cycle, the materials it was made from was pretty durable (don't know what yours is made of) so I washed alone and added vinegar to the wash (which is said will set the color). I washed mine on a medium load to make sure the water completely covered the rug, add the vinegar to the water as its filling. I poured mine in but if I had to guess I used about 2 cups and don't use detergent. I stopped the cycle and let the rug sit in the solution for about 1/2 hour then continued the wash cycle. I thought it did a good job. I used the vinegar/water wash a few times and noticed that it did help with the bleeding. Good luck whatever you end up doing.s

try some diaper soaker .first try iit onsome part oof the rug that can't be seen in case it takes the colour of the rug out .then use it carefully ,not too much soaker.about half a cup in a litre of water get as much of the poop off as you can before you start then gently drawing the stain to the center from each side dab on the diaper soaker. you will need to put the soaker in some warm water. when you think you have got it cleaned up get a micro cotton towel and put it over the stain and stand on it .this will soak up most of the water .you may have to repeat this to get it all out .s
We loved the Rug Doctor so much we bought one. They work the best I have found. I have used other brands you can buy from your local department store and nothing compared. I have 4 kids and light carpet so it gets pretty dirty especially during the winter tracking in wet snow. Our carpets look brand new again after cleaning them. We use Gain or Tide laundry detergent in it and a small amount of bleach or use detergent with bleach in it. It leaves the carpet pretty dry afterwards. I would suggest using a scotch gard (you can buy that pretty cheap at your local home store) afterwards and it really helps as well. I believe there is one by 3M we used and it repelled liquid from soaking in. I love the Rug Doctor though!s
