Ichabod Crane....... Sleepy Hollow?
- Slightly, but he's a quirky character. As described in the story, Ichabod Crane is a school teacher who travels to Sleepy Hollow to teach the children of the area. This, in company with his ability to ingratiate himself, persuades many of the townspeople to successively lodge him at their homes for a week at a time, which serves as his sole means of lodging. He follows strict morals in the schoolroom, including the proverbial Spare the rod and spoil the child; outside the schoolroom, he is shown to have few morals and no motive but his own gratification. Despite being thin, he is capable of eating astonishingly large amounts of food and is constantly seeking to do so. In addition to this, he is excessively superstitious, often to the extent of believing every myth, legend, tall tale, etc. to be literally true. As a result, he is perpetually frightened by anything that reminds him of ghosts or demons. If you're talking about the movie Sleepy Hollow, then, Constable Ichabod Crane is a fictional character, played by Johnny Depp. He is a New York policeman with an interest in science, sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate a string of grisly murders. As in the original story, his horse is named Gunpowder. Ichabod's most notable traits in the movie include an ahead-of-his-time liking for post-mortem examinations and scientific methods, as well as his being very quirky.s
How does the torque of a construction crane relate to the torque of a car?
- Torque is force x distance. In a car, the torque is the force twisting the drive axles, and the distance is the radius of the driving wheels. It controls the rate of acceleration of the car. In a crane, the force is that provided by the winch cable, and the distance is the length of the jib. It controls the weight the crane can lift.s

Can you use a cymbal stand as a camera jib/crane?
- While technically possible to do what you want, it is not recommended. I have seen too many cymbals and stands fall over during rehearsals or gigs... I think you want a much wider stance on the base. For the smaller cranes, use of a tripod works - but look at the pictures - the tripod legs are fully spread. In a couple of cases, using a heavy duty tripod - basically the same tripod used for PA speaker stands or light trees is done. In both cases, the wider stance of the fully spread legs will protect your camera investment. It is all about balance and center of gravity. A cymbal is about 2-3 pounds and the cymbal takes up a very small area, typically not much wide thatn the cymbal stand's leg spread - and we already know you can pretty easily knock over the cymbal stand... a small consumer camera is 2-3 pounds + the weight of the crane (which will depend on how long the crane is + the counterweights + any cables you might add... Cables? Sure. First, while not REALLY a requirement, since the camera is pretty far away from the person operating the crane, a LANC to start/stop recording and adjust focus and zoom is needed. As well, since the camcorder's viewfinder and LCD panel are that far away, in order to know if the shot is framed or in focus, you need a monitor. So cables... and that's potentially another couple of pounds. Technically, will it work? Yes. Would I trust my camera gear on it? Uh... likely not... but maybe you might - if the cymbal stand leg spread was made much larger and re-inforced with several 2x4s... and it was really solid... Be careful with the crane arm and counterweight total weight. Cymbal stands were not designed to hold a constant 15+ pounds of cymbals... let alone a constant 15+ pounds of anything else...s

Reaction to Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes?
- This book gave me lots of hope. I really loved to hear about Sadako and how she folded so many cranes. I wanted to believe that she would finish the paper cranes and she would get better. When she died in the ending it was very sad. Someone with so much hope and motivation doesn't deserve to die. The book also made me think a lot about why Sadako was sick in the first place. She was only two-years-old when the Americans dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, but she was still eventually killed from it. This book shows the long-lasting effects war has on a country and its people. It really makes you think twice about war. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was an easy read that I had a hard time putting down. Every chance I got I read this book! While it was sad in the end, it was great to hear about Sadako's life and how her friends finished her paper cranes for her. The plot was interesting and exciting. I really like the main character too. Sadako was a very brave, strong person that I wish I was more like. She woke up every day with the will to live and that gave me a lot of hope.s
what is the 1000 paper crane legend and is it true?
