Ceramics / arts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANSWER NOW IF U ARE SMART PLEASE?
- 1. Because they are robust and survive very well, unlike organic objects such as bone and wood. Ceramics are also human-made and reflect the technology, economy and style of the manufacturers which can differ a lot. This gives archaeologists a means to recognise changes in style and technology and then identify different societies and/or time periods. This was very important especially before the advent of radiocarbon dating, as changes in pottery typology was (and often still is) one of the main ways in which archaeologists recognise changes over time. 2. Ancient ceramics come from both settlement and cemetery sites, often cemetery pottery is better preserved, but there is generally a wider range of wares and types found in settlements. 3. I don't really get what this question is asking, not sure what you mean by cooking baskets? 4. The Neolithic period. Dates vary from place to place and often this period is split between the aceramic Neolithic (before pottery) and the ceramic Neolithic. Hope this helps.s
what is ceramic bearings?
- A ceramic bearing is new to the cycling world, the ceramic is a replacement for steel or stainless steel components used in the construction of the bearing. What ceramics offer is lower friction and longer life under certain conditions. One of the big advantages of ceramics is in what goes on in a bearing under load. Steel constructed bearings actually create weld spots during use, due to the high temp. characteristics and a much smoother bearing surface ceramics don't have this problem. Over the years hybrid bearings have been created to stop the welding problem, steel/stainless, ceramic/chrome and other hybrid bearings due to their construction help eliminate the welding problem. Ceramic bearings are very pricey and for 99.999% of use the cost is not worth it, a hybrid bearing costs less and has similar friction characteristics. A side note if you do not use extreme care when installing ceramic bearings they will fail rather fast.s

Can I use tempera paint on ceramic?
- I have done a lot of ceramic and glass painting over the years, and I prefer either Pebeo porcelaine brand of acrylics(somewhat pricey) or Delta Ceramdecor Perm Enamel paint. You can air dry or bake in the oven for permanency. However I do not recommend putting the items in the dishwasher, even on the top rack. The directions will say that you can, but I don't like to take the chance after I have put that much time and effort into the project. It's the detergent and temp of the water that can do the damage. So here's what to do: Prep all your ceramicware and or glassware the same way. Wash with hot water and mild dish detergent. Rinse well, and let drain dry or wipe dry with lintfree dish towel. NOT a terrycloth towel. Be carefull not to touch the area you are going to paint. Oil from fingers will not let paint adhere to surface. I like to wear stretchy rubber gloves when I paint glassware and cups, plates, etc. Next give the item a vinegar bath. Wipe the surface to be painted with a clean cloth dipped in white vinegar. Wipe dry with lintless dish towel. Once you start painting, do not clean your brushes with water. You can clean them with the thinner/cleaner that you will find in the section with the paint. Water will break down the propertys/binders that make your paint stick to the surface. You can clean the brushes when you are finished with your project, with warm water and mild hand soap. Go to either Michael's or Hobby Lobby and ask one of the staff members to help you find the paint and brushes you'll need, and a book that will guide you thru this whole process. Read it carefully. I could tell you all the steps here, but it would take up too much space, and besides a book is a nice thing to have to refer to, also will have patterns. Good luck with your projects.s
