Q:How does solid wood flooring work?
How does solid wood flooring work?
Q:Last night around 11:30, my dad woke up and told my mom to clean the floors. He said it was a mater of life and death, and when she refused, he locked her outside her room. He then slammed my sisters door over and over again and threw random stuff. He then started mopping all the floors over and over again, and opened all the windows. I haven't seen him at all today. What the heck is going on?
He a sleepwalker..?
Q:Heyyy! I need help, I have been looking for cheap boards to build a deck and outside shed. Then I would need to find cheap place to buy a hardwood flooring or something similar, do ya know any web pages that deliver or any places around Memphis-Batesville- area??Thanks:)
Always keep in mind when you buy cheap, you get cheap let the buyer beware.
Q:I love zombie games and I like Nazi Zombies for the Xbox 360, I want to play Killing Floor, or Fort Zombie. Is Killing floor a good game for $20, or the bundle for $30, (which should I get if I get this?) Or what are some other good zombie games where you have to survive for as long as possible or of that genre?
It's pretty cheap to begin with, and well worth every penny. Support the maker's of this awesome game, and be legal, just pay the money!
Q:I am installing laminate floors for the first time and I had a question. We ripped out the carpet and their was wood along the trim with nails sticking up whice I assume was used to hold the carpet in place. I am pretty sure that I have to remove that before installing laminate, but I just wanted to make sure. Thank you
Yes, you must remove any nails, staples etc. from the original flooring. Carefully remove any trim along the floor / wall and mark the back of it (so you will know where it goes back on), once the floor is installed. Good Luck. We put a floor down and it looks awesome. We used a bubble-type underlay that was recommended and have had absolutely no problems with it. Don't forget to look for the cleaning instructions:)
Q:I have an old slate floor in my foyer and I want to polish instead of replace.
DO NOT use wax... slate is porous and will absorb it, causing damage to the slate over time. Linseed oil or 511 Impregnator will give you a low-gloss pick-me-up, and slate may be cleaned with any alkali detergent. A good home products store can give you more complete recommendations, but it does have to be a good one with knowledgeable staff.
Q:How do I get the oil on the floor?
If it is to strengthen the composite floor to save trouble casually get some things can be dirty if you are solid wood flooring you get some resin oil paint
Q:I installed a floating floor and it seems that water can penetrate between the seems. how could I seal these?
As to a Pergo or any type of laminate or floating floor the installation is the key. All floors have some kind of locking system which should deter most of the water from seeping through, they all have some type of repellent finish. If installed correctly the amount of water would be minimal. But, as with all laminate and floating floors water spills should be wiped immediately as replacing a single piece is virtually impossible w/o taking the whole floor up,
Q:Is it okay to wax vinyl floors? Does it help extend th elife of the floors or does it hurt them?
yes wax protects vinyl floors, make sure the floor is clean and free of any detergents,if possible apply the wax with a synthetic mop, dont put more than 1 coat next to the baseboards because it will never wear off , 3 or 4 coats in the traffic lanes, make sure you allow 30 mins drying time between coats, pre-soak your mop in clean water before putting your mop in the wax.(you dont want your mop to soak up and hold a half gallon of expensive wax.) put down even thin coats of wax. after your beautiful floor has dried you need to remember to keep it dust mopped and keep your mopping to a minimum with a very mild cleaner, keep your rugs and mats vacummed as sand and dirt on the bottom of shoes are just like sandpaper. if you need to touch-up the floor after a few months make sure the floor is clean and re-apply one coat of wax. p.s. stripping damaged wax can be a real problem if you dont have the right equipment or experience, most people do it one time and then hire a pro.(me) lol. good luck.
Q:I want to remove the laminate flooring and put tile in what tools do I need to use and how do you get the glue off
If it is a floating type floor, which I suspect it is, your job is easy. Simply set the blade depth on your skill saw to the thickness of the flooring, (the padding underneath should keep your saw blade off the concrete), and whack it into manageable pieces. This might actually be fun. Try cutting patterns in the floor, like compass point stars, or whatever floats your boat!
