You can not directly join the two as PVC uses a liquid welding type of gluing solution (actulally the PVC glue causes th material to melt and fuse together. Copper pipe is sodered together with heat. However you can put a facet (you probably allready have one) on the copper pipe and then put together a PVC section which simply screws onto the Copper fitting. You just clean the sink after you use it (whether to wash up or brush your teeth and spit). My mom was always fussy like that. She even had a special container in the kitchen to wash veggies and such before she prepared them. She didn't like food touching the kitchen sink.

I always start out with the shower since it usually takes the longest. First I take everything out of the shower, off the counters, etc and pick out a cleaner based on what kind of tub/shower it is. I generally will use Scrubbing Bubbles (good disinfector) or Soft Scrub Bleach and a Scotch sponge, and scrub down the basin, tile and especially the bath mat (sometimes you have to use a toothbrush to really get the scum off.) After that I'll clean the toilet bowl with Kaboom Bleach toilet/drain cleaner, it takes off any rings very quickly. I always use Scrubbing Bubbles on the rest of the toilet and let it sit there for 5 minutes to sanitize everything. Empty the bathroom trash and replace the bag. If they don't use a bag, I make sure to spray some Lysol in the bottom or wash it out if it needs. From there I'll do the sink and counters. After that I'll sweep and mop the floor, and the last thing I do is clean the mirrors, spray Lysol on the door knob, and shine the faucets with Windex and a microfiber cloth. Then you can put everything back in, and replace any dirty towels or wash the rugs if they need it. Periodically I will go through everything under the sink and organize it/throw away the junk also. To me, sanitizing is the most important part of cleaning up the bathroom.

hand wash them in a basin but don't use bleach...just soapy water and then fill them with scrunched up newspaper and hang them out on the line or clothes airer.
