- Q:I have glazed porcelain tile to put in my bathroom, but the thing is... that is is only 1/4 of am inch thick... Is it still okay to use it?...
- glazed tiles are fine to use in the bathroom, the important thing to remember is if they are set properly and to set on either mortar base or hardiboard. the main concern though, would be whether the surface is too smooth a finish when used on the floor, especially when the tiles are wet! this could become a hazard to your health! a lot of tiles used in a floor application, have a sanded or rough finish ,just because of that !

- Q:I am planning on laying some tile today but not sure when it can be walked on. Also, can I lay some today and start again tomorrow? It is in a small bathroom.
- Tile to a border and don't leave adhesive sticking up, place a board over the tiles after 4 hours and it will stand light traffic, continue this to the end and grout up, should be ok 12 hours after grouting.

- Q:If you were going to tile an entire room would you start from the walls or floor? The room is only small 12m walls 4m floor is a basic toilet basin. There are no border tiles no fllor to wall tiles.

- Q:I am about to renewing my kitche.I plan to install tile.Well I have no tile cutter but I do have a simple, regular cutt off electrical tools and a diamond blade.Should this be enough for it?
- The only cutting tool you can't go without is an angle grinder.Get the Dewalt that costs between $50 $60 dollars.It's lighter weight has the amps to make it happen.Buy a diamond blade but do not get the Bosch Turbo.It's inferior.Also,you want a continuous rim on that cutting wheel.The 4in. is the way to go.I can do entire houses full of tile with nothing but a grinder.Gonna be real dusty,though.
- Q:Our kitchen has vinyl tile squares from the 70‘s for the floor. Underneath that is terrazzo (sp?) and nothing else. They are proving to be a massive pain in the butt to remove so I was wondering if we even really need to. They are very thin and very stuck. Can we just skip tearing them out and go ahead with the new ceramic tile install?
- My vinyl floor was really stuck too, so when I wanted the floor tiled, the tilers just cut plywood to screw into the floor on top of the vinyl, then installed the tiles. Ceramic on top of vinyl is a no-no.
